NOS4A2 | Joe Hill
post image

My mother and cousin were able to meet Joe Hill a few years ago at NEBA. This book has been on my TBR pile since then and I'm do glad that I started it this weekend. I'm confused and fascinated and really enjoying the writing. I can't wait to absorb more of the book!

PhilippaMarlowe Such a great book! This was my introduction to Joe Hill as a writer, and I quickly went back and devoured his other books. 8y
MandaRie When you're finished you should check out the prequel, graphic novel, Wraith: Welcome to Christmasland. 8y
kristina_with_a_k Good read. The imagery is so real it repulsed me at times. 8y

It took me a while to get into this book. It really picks up when Slava starts writing. And I always respect a book that teaches me new words. This one taught me demotic, vitrines, and sacerdotal.

Anne of Green Gables | L. M. Montgomery
post image

NoRegrets I really need to re-read the Anne of Green Gables books. 8y
abbiereadsbooks I read the first one in middle school and hated it. I need to reread it as an adult because I'm pretty sure as a 12-year-old I just didn't give it the credit it deserves. 8y
Hoopiefoot I read the series during a readathon this winter and loved every minute of it! 8y

HeatherBookNerd I love Anna Quindlen. Every Last One is my favorite of hers. Just read her new one, Miller's Valley, and is just so-so. Not terrible, but a bit bland. 8y

This is my favorite of Sarah McCoy's books. The writing is just so beautiful. I kept stopping to read passages aloud to people.

Notafraidofwords I read this a while ago. A gorgeous book! 8y
MyBookLife I have never read her. Is this a good book to start with? 8y
Michele1 This is a great one to start with. Her others are good too.(The Baker's Daughter is about WWII and the Mapmaker's Children is about the Underground Railroad.) 8y
MerryRead I'm in the mood of reading coming-of-age story. Going to find this one now :D 8y

Tarlia There's a movie? 8y
Michele1 Yes. As is true of most movies made from books, I will tell you, "the book was better." When it came out, I got a group of women together to watch it and had them being feminine products to be donated to the local food bank. Other than that , I thought the movie wasn't worth much. 8y
