Oh my gosh - how was this book written over 75 years ago! So well written by the master of mystery. I would write more but I would spoil it...

Loved! I've seen others love this too. How a family puts itself back together after mother's death - and so much more

Really disturbing content but well written. A teenage girl is sent home to her grandparents farm after her mother dies and discovers a disturbing family history.

I feel like I should like this but wasn't a huge fan. Two women coming of age in 1940s NYC. It was just ok. I felt myself skimming at the end.

Cinfhen I felt the same way!!! I was so glad when the book was over, if it wasn't for book club I would have bailed 🙈 7y

One Of Us Is Lying | Karen McManus

Meh - predictable. 5 kids sent to detention and one dies. Who is the killer? Positioned as the breakfast club meets pretty little liars.

Cinfhen I was looking forward to this one... 7y

I always enjoy Jenny colgan books - she is like the Maeve binchy but of Scotland. This one is about coming home and realizing there is no place like home ... with some romance and yummy recipes thrown in.

Utterly charming - made me want to reread all agatha Christie books. Plus murder on the orient express is coming out as a movie in November! This book is about a book club of Christie lovers who need to solve a real life mystery. Fun cozy mystery.

Definitely creepy - but somewhat predictable with a flat ending. A story about a foreign exchange student who definitely lands with the wrong family.

Loved this book! A glamorous 1950s Hollywood siren hires on a memoir writer to document the great love of her life. The last sentence of this book is brilliant but don't read ahead because it's spoiler!

All Grown Up | Jami Attenberg

I don't know what to say. This book depressed the hell out of me. Is that a good enough reason to say it was terrible? Or maybe I just don't want to read books that have characters this self absorbed so it's me and not the book. Meh. I don't know. Any suggestions for happier books?

underthebelljar I felt that way about All Grown Up too. I only finished because it was short, otherwise I would have bailed. Wasn't for me. 😕 7y

Enjoyable - I'm a sucker for anything sisters oriented. Throw in some amnesia and some mermaids and it's a perfect pre-summer read.

Meh. Sister gets out of jail after serving 10 years for a crime she did not commit. A tale of how well do you really know your family. It was pretty predictable in the "whodunnit"

My reading has slowed down due to work travel and my son's baseball tournaments - this was a fun romp based on Italy. College friends reunite after many years, some nursing regrets and old wounds. A happy uplifting fluffy read!
