#Mtcookbook 🧗‍♀️ Another new one this week!

Gumbo on the menu tonight. I love this series for its simplicity and overall tastiness.

Tamra This was a hit and will make it again. Added Old Bay Seasoning and hot sauce to serve. 😚 3mo
mabell Ooo old bay sounds like great addition! 3mo
tpixie I‘ve been craving gumbo! 3mo

janeycanuck Yum! Sounds so tasty! 3mo
Tamra @janeycanuck it was very good! 3mo
Tamra @tpixie give it a try! 3mo
Tamra @mabell yes, I made a note to add it again. 3mo
tpixie @Tamra I showed the recipe to my husband.. He thinks we should give it a try! Do you know how much Old Bay you put in? 😄 (edited) 3mo
Tamra @tpixie my daughter doesn‘t like very spicy food, so I only put in a teaspoon. But the rest of us added hot sauce to our bowls. So I would say it depends on how spicy you want it. 😊 I also made other closely related substitutions based on what we had, including a half can of fire roasted tomatoes. 3mo
tpixie @Tamra ok thanks! Fired roasted tomatoes- my mom loved those! Thanks for the memory!! 3mo
Tamra @tpixie enjoy! 3mo
tpixie @Tamra 😋 3mo
intothehallofbooks This sounds wonderful! I‘ve never made gumbo before. Also I‘ve seen the Skinnytaste cookbooks around, but I‘ve never peeked into them. I should, though! 3mo
Tamra @intothehallofbooks I really like them! Maybe check a couple out from the library to see if they work for you. 😄 3mo
TheBookHippie I love gumbo! 3mo

I'm currently really struggling to read, but I found listening to this very interesting book did help somewhat to get me out of my slump.

This was really so informative and fascinating. I didn't realise how easy our eating habits are influenced by our environment. I truly believed myself above this, but was so shocked at how many things I thought was my choice only to realise that it was really the things around me.

Do you have a genre that is a guilty pleasure? Reading a book about a woman that goes on a fitness journey to lose weight is totally mine! To be honest sometimes (more often than not) they are awful and eye rolling. Sometimes they are inspiring. I get in a bored funk about exercise, and I love the parts in the books where they find their self confidence through working out. They spark my drive to continue getting my own workout in each day.
⭐⭐⭐

AileenRR I haven‘t anything like this and I‘m interested. Please recommend a favorite? 8mo
ItsAnotherJen @AileenRR hmmm..maybe try Love, Lies, and Weight Loss by Jax Burrows and see what you think! 8mo
AileenRR Thanks! I‘ll take a look at that one 😊 8mo

A lot of interesting & useful info but, by trying to emphasize that this is not a diet book, it focuses almost solely on people on eating disorders. Not bad but, not what I was looking for.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 8mo

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!) Feel free to join in!

I tried. I'm not the intended audience. Which is 😁 because I read so much children's lit. I want to lose weight for health reasons, not because of how I feel about my body. Never dieted. Tired of hearing about those two things, reptilian brain science, and not enough actual science to support their theory. But I started crocheting hats because I miss Mick Ashton. Not sure why you can't buy them on Patreon or his sweaters.

Deweyfly Skip to the middle, it gets more sciency 1y
mandarchy @Deweyfly I'll have to see if it's still in my Kindle. It's already been returned, but some books linger. 1y

My friend turned me on to The Glucose Goddess on Instagram.

Neither of us is diabetic, but we are both interested in improving our overall health and MOODS ?

This book is filled with super easy hacks on how to lower your glucose curve.

Did I mention "super easy?"

Jessie's scientific explanations are easy to follow and include graphs and illustrations.

I really enjoyed her story about what led her into all of this.
