September reading! I was shocked that I'd finished 9 books, given the start of fall semester & the decrease in available reading time. Then I realized my total includes 5 comics, one graphic novel, one kids' book, and one that's been in progress since July... 😜Not so impressive anymore! I still made quite a bit of progress in #sequelseptember, with all but two of these being sequels/volumes in a series. #somethingforsept #bestreadsofseptember

West Virginia, 1954: Perla is unmarried-with-a-child when she moves to town, hoping to avoid stares + whispers. Her unexplainable talent (or curse?) for making food multiply only draws attention to her 'situation' when she keeps the town fed during a drought.

I love this setting (Appalachia!) + characters, which we follow as they age throughout the series. There are themes of forgiveness, second chances, judgment ✔️💯

Reread for #sequelseptember

This is the most delicious, devious piece of thriller candy! I'm listening to it on audio over the stereo system at work. As soon as someone else gets here I'm going to have to change it to something more neutral. I kind of hope I get stuck in traffic today so I can hear more! #ghostfoodtruck #sequelseptember

DebinHawaii An excellent audio! The narrator was spot on! 👍👍📚👂🏻 8y

This one draggggged for me. After some major events in the last volume, this felt like a lot of filler. I'm still waiting for the last book's events to actually have an impact on the plot. And then, cliffhangers. Darn you, Robert Jordan! One more volume down, four more to go. #sequelseptember #seriesseptember

Just as good the second time around! Also very good thing I reread there's SO much going on in this book and ALL of it is important. Now I'm ready for those details to get them out of the mess they're in because none of them are allowed to die.

annahenke So excited for book two! #sequelseptember 8y
MeganB @annahenke me too!! I don't know how I'm going to last 8 days to find out how it ends! 8y

I decided to listen to the second book in the Hex Hall series in honor of #sequelseptember. This one was fun but I think I enjoyed the first book more. Taking a short break from the series before I pick up the 3rd installment.
