The Flavia de Luce Series 6-Book Bundle | Alan Bradley
7 posts | 11 read | 5 to read
New York Times bestselling author Alan Bradley is a master of the British cozy mystery, and in Flavia de Luce, he has created a wickedly clever and intrepid young sleuth, hailed as one of the most remarkable creations in recent literature (USA Today). Now readers can follow the captivating Flavia as she stirs up trouble to solve the most confounding of crimes in this six-volume eBook bundle: THE SWEETNESS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PIE THE WEED THAT STRINGS THE HANGMANS BAG A RED HERRING WITHOUT MUSTARD I AM HALF-SICK OF SHADOWS SPEAKING FROM AMONG THE BONES THE DEAD IN THEIR VAULTED ARCHES Also includes an excerpt from Alan Bradleys seventh Flavia de Luce novel, As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust. It is the summer of 1950and a series of inexplicable events has struck Buckshaw, the decaying English mansion that Flavias family calls home. A dead bird is found on the doorstep, a postage stamp bizarrely pinned to its beak. Hours later, Flavia finds a man lying in the cucumber patch and watches as he takes his dying breath. For the appalled and delighted Flavia, an aspiring chemist with a passion for poison, life begins in earnest when murder comes to Buckshaw. Her investigation is the stuff of science: full of possibilities, contradictions, and connections. I wish I could say I was afraid, but I wasnt. Quite the contrary. This was by far the most interesting thing that had ever happened to me in my entire life. I have only read book one, loved it, but have continued to purchase new ones in the series in the hope I would return to them. I checked, and I seem to be two behind. Number eight comes out in October, I believe.

Set in 1950s England, these are the epitome of cozy (except for the bits where Flavia is feisty, feminist, and science-y). I really ❤️ his titles too. Wish I had all matching covers...

rubyslippersreads Me too—loved the two I've read and bought the rest, but they're still on the TBR list. 😏 7y
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage I've read at least 3... love her and her relationship with her sisters! 😁 7y

In August, the next book in my favorite cozy mystery series comes out (Her Royal Spyness is the series name, if you're interested 😉), so I've decided to make it a month of reading mysteries. ❤️ I'm sure I won't be able to get through all of these lovely Flavia de Luce books, but I'll definitely be starting them! What do you plan to read next month?

The books in this photo are the first six in the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley. It's a series of mystery novels set in England in the 1950s where the main sleuth is an eleven-year-old girl with a knack for chemistry. Despite having a young protagonist, this series isn't geared toward kids. I've had these on my wish list for several years, so now that I have them, I can't wait to dig in!

This is my favorite series! Best audiobook series to listen to! Jayne Entwistle adds such spicy humorous spunk to Flavia's character, I find myself giggling at the pranks she plays on her sisters amongst the snarky dialogue exchanged. I adore Jayne's voice. #24in48

Reviewsbylola I only read the first two books but I thought Flavia was so cute and I love her spunk! 8y
Kmmsellers Love this series! I read the first two. But am now listening to the others. 8y

There are 2 book series I follow and keep in stock to read when I don't know what to read. One is Louise Penny's Armand Gamache series and the other is this Flavia de Luce mystery. On the fourth book now :)
