pickThis is a really excellent craft book! Detailed written instructions and clear photographs explain English paper piecing very thoroughly. There are lots of project ideas, though only one is shown step-by-step (the pentagon ball)—it‘s pretty much obvious how to do the rest, since she gives clear instructions on joining shapes and doing appliqué. I can‘t wait to get started doing some English paper piecing.

2) Pippin passed his daycare intake! He did so well and it was such fun watching him interact with other dogs.
3) Worked a couple of half days this week and really enjoyed it. Thinking of not throwing in the tax towel after all.
4) Chapter a day buddy reads. It helps to have a plan.
5) Beautyland is a joy to listen to after the depressing #4 books

pickA group of quilters work to host an annual Charity Christmas Boutique. Each chapter is told from the perspective of a different character who chooses a specific quilt to display at the boutique. While there are many characters to keep track of, this was a lovely story with lovely characters that gives you a glimpse into the world of quilting. (Had to get this book with a quilt that belonged to my grandmother- maybe even my great-grandmother).
This was a great book! It's been a long time since I started a book in the morning and finished it the same night.

This was absolutely lovely! It's exactly what I want in a Christmas novella that isn't romance focused. Warm and cozy, I honestly wish I could have wrapped myself in the quilt the characters come together to make.
pickEliza and Will have made a lovely home for themselves and their two children in Kansas but when Will goes to fight for the Union against the “seceshes” (secessionists), Eliza must run the farm mostly alone and face life as “just a woman,” in a very man‘s world. She must decide whether to help an escaped slave, how to deal with brutal thugs who would as soon kill her and her kids as look at her, and whether she should let a secesh help her when ⬇️
