Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #1 | Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa

This was... ok. I guess I liked what for me was a new take on Sabrina, but I wasn't overly struck by the artwork nor the story.
In volume 1, we learn about Sabrina's family, and how she came to live with her aunts. It's a whole bunch darker than the goofy show you remember from your childhood, that's for sure!
I'd probably pick up the following volumes, but they probably won't be the first thing I pick off the shelf.

xxjenadanxx Or you can watch the show, which in my opinion is excellent :) 5y

Enjoying some picture books at the library today!

The Origin of Day and Night is an excellent telling of the Inuit story of how day and night as we know them came into existence. Lovely storytelling and gorgeous illustrations.

Definitely recommended.

Another book in Theytus Books' dual language series of Dogrib traditional stories! The Tlicho Nation actually holds the copyright and receives the profits from these! This story is really interesting, with beautiful illustrations. The language info was helpful, and I liked hearing the Dogrib version in the CD. Definitely recommended.

Crazeedi Such a delightful looking book! 6y

A very different tone then the other books in the series, being in a very different time period and have almost no necromancy in it. Still delightful, Mogget the #talkingcat makes a very sinister appearence. While the words asexual are never said, Clariel states she has no interest in sex and she doesn't understand people who do. Never is it implied she just needs to find 'the one'. #originstory #darkisnotevil #asexual #YAfantasy #fantasy #ya

BookmarkTavern Oh my god, really? I mean, really? That's amazing. I never made it this far in the series. Now it's at the top of my TBR pile. 8y
