As an adult parody children's book, this story was chuckle worthy but just okay. As read by Samuel L Jackson, it's hilarious. In case you missed it, I'll post the link below. #odetosleep #tuneintonovember

tournevis When my son was waking up every 45 minutes every night, that book felt goooooood. 6y
JaclynW Have you heard Jennifer Garner read this book? It's pretty funny too. She's just so sweet, that's what makes her version funny. 😄 6y
LibrarianRyan @JaclynW no. I'll have to find it. 6y

#TuneIntoNovember #day15 #OdeToSleep One of the unique aspects of Jordan‘s series is the dream world of Tel‘aran‘rhiod a mirror of our world in which “dream walkers” usually ones who can wield the One Power, and with practice can use this world to travel large distances quickly, and eventually have the ability to affect the real world by locking people in sleep or bonds while they‘re sleeping. The tagged book is when Egwene becomes a dream walker.

readordierachel Those look well loved :) 6y
Lizpixie @ReadOrDieRachel I‘ve had these books since the early nineties, most of them, preordered every one before they were released and have reread them at least once a year since, which for the first books means they‘ve been read over 20 times just by me! They are definitely the most battered looking books in my library, except for some of my original Stephen Kings!❤️❤️ 6y
Cinfhen I love how your books hold such memories for you💝 6y

readordierachel @Lizpixie That's lovely! Books with history and sentimental value are the best 💙 6y
Lizpixie @Cinfhen @ReadOrDieRachel thank you. Those books have travelled from home to Home with me, hospital stays, doctors appts, four babies. This is my ride or die series, I love it so much🙌 I‘m actually rereading it now as audiobooks at night (some of them are tricky to read now they‘re so fragile) 6y
Centique Your posts are bringing back so many memories for me. 😍 I need to reread these! 6y

There is a little girl called Lilac in this novel who is stolen by the fairies and sleeps for 25 years. Now that‘s some sleep!
This is a huge labyrinthine novel, beautifully written but at times I was quite lost. Probably the fairies at work again! And the amazing parts made up for that anyway 😊If you loved the fairy parts of Jonathan Strange this could be just what you need.

Cinfhen So I'm definitely taking a pass 😘😘😉😂 6y
Centique @Cinfhen I was writing this wondering if I could say “this is definitely not for @cinfhen” 😂😂👍😘 6y

In honor of #odetosleep tonight, I played Owen the YouTube video of Samuel L. Jackson reading this book. He giggled all the way through it. I tucked him in with Sophie 😻 snuggled up and told him “now go the fuck to sleep.” 😂

#TuneIntoNovember #OdeToSleep 😴 All the 'sleep' titles from my stacks. Half are read (top row & middle right) and half are #TBR (bottom row & middle left) I'm still excited about finding a like-new copy of Sleeping Beauties at the library bookstore for $3 yesterday--although who knows when I'll get to it! 📚📚📚📚😴📚

Robothugs Nice choices in your stack! 6y
Cinfhen Again, I'm echoing my lovely cohost @Robothugs and nice find on the KING!!! 6y

Another used bookstore find that I bought on a whim. Interested to read this story about a family of Jewish immigrants moving to the slums of NYC. 🏙

“I am tired of tears and laughter,
And men that laugh and weep;
Of what may come hereafter
For men that sow to reap:
I am weary of days and hours,
Blown buds of barren flowers,
Desires and dreams and powers
And everything but sleep. “
My favorite stanza from one of my favorite poems. #odetosleep #tuneintonovember
