Kierkegaard For Beginners | Donald D. Palmer

Mehso-so

Great concept, but maybe Kierkegaard‘s philosophy and concepts are so complex that they can‘t be distilled into a primer filled with cartoons? Or maybe the author/illustrator were using Kierkegaard‘s concept of indirect communication and I missed the whole point?! Either way, I know more now than I did before - but not as much as I would have hoped. #nonfiction2019 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa #maymadness #graphicnovels @Clwojick @RadicalReader

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Great job! I‘m pacing myself out too... I want to stretch it out over the year. 15h
AnansiGirl @Riveted_Reader_Melissa good to know! I‘ve seen other littens with almost filled cards and I was like I need to catch up. 😂 🐢 🐇 14h
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @AnansiGirl Yes 😂 I few did coverall already! But I definitely need to space out my non-fiction with some other genres. So take your time, you have over half the year yet! 12h
Smarkies Good to know that other people are also going as slowly as me! 😂😂 7h
AnansiGirl @Smarkies we‘re doing ok with reading at our own pace 🙌🏼 😄 4h

Book read, podcast listened to and documentary watched. I still don‘t understand how brilliant, worldly investors (individuals and companies alike) were duped out of hundreds of millions of dollars. I also find it a bit sickening that nearly all employees were complacent in the fraud that endangered thousands of patients‘ lives. #nonfiction2019 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa

This one fell under "something uplifting". I fell in love with the way Shauna writes so effortlessly about her life around the table.
I don't really cook but some of these recipes might tempt me.?

Landed my first #bingo for #nonfiction2019 I'm counting Bad Blood as "something with science" for the actual science that eventually proved Theranos was a fraud, obvs not for their bogus inventions ?

A heartbreaking, poignant, haunting and brilliantly written memoir by a man who lost his daughter at the age of 2 in a random and senseless accident. It‘s the story of her life, her death and the journey her parents made through grief and their bravery in choosing to become parents again. I read it with tears streaming down my face.

Completed for “something you pick” in #nonfiction2019.

Completed for “something you weren‘t looking for” in #nonfiction2019. (I just randomly pulled it out of the bookcase.) A memoir by a woman who unexpectedly becomes a widow at 44, and finds out 7 months later that her husband had been unfaithful —multiple times. She sets out to find the other women and discover things about her late husband. Between a pick and a so-so for me. FYI: Contains frank and graphic talk about sex.

I laughed so much in this humorous yet deeply personal collection of essays. The #audiobook was fantastic, I have already put a hold on another one of his audiobooks at the library. His obsession with wearing a Fitbit, which he brings up in two separate chapters, had me laughing as I listened while tracking my steps on two separate #audiowalks. 😆

Almost finished my puzzle while listening to the last few chapters! #audiopuzzle

4thhouseontheleft #nonfiction2019 #travel : many chapters related to his family trips to the beach, and anecdotes from his various book tours. @Riveted_Reader_Melissa 5d

4thhouseontheleft @BethM They are! And my favorites are the ones that do a great job at balancing humor with serious topics. 5d
Megabooks I love this book too! 5d
wanderinglynn That‘s a fun puzzle! I also enjoyed working it. And way to go on completing your first #BFC audiobook! 🙌🏻 (edited) 5d
CoverToCoverGirl I might be obsessed with my Fitbit too, since I‘ve had it I only take it off to charge and right back on it goes! Well done! 5d
4thhouseontheleft @wanderinglynn This is a fun one! I know you do a lot of puzzles, do you keep all of them when you are done? I only like to do them once, and don‘t frame any, but it‘s hard to find somewhere to sell/trade. 5d
4thhouseontheleft @CoverToCoverGirl Same! I‘ve had mine for years now, I‘m on my 3rd one. Apparently, I‘ve walked the distance of the Nile since owning my first one. 😃 (edited) 5d
wanderinglynn @4thhouseontheleft yes, it is hard to sell/trade them. I‘ve sold a group of them on eBay. I was thinking about trying a jigsaw puzzle meetup to see if anyone would be interested in swapping. 5d
Caterina I like this picture! Good job finishing your first audiobook for the challenge! 🎉 5d
DimeryRene I have just discovered Sedaris. I am reading Me Talk Pretty One Day!! 4d
