Eternals Omnibus: When Gods Walk the Earth | Jack Kirby

I know very little of Marvel outside of the MCU so I read The Eternals Omnibus in preparation for the Eternals movie in November. It was interesting seeing the deviants and the eternals and their interactions. However I was disappointed that the original plot line of the celestials returning to earth to judge humanity was not resolved and barely went anywhere. Does anyone know if that storyline is resolved in another run? #eternals #marvel

TieDyeDude This was the full original run, cancelled before resolving plot points. I think it may have continued in a Thor run, but I'm not sure 3y

The Eternals is currently my most anticipated MCU film (just slightly nudging out Doctor Strange from the top spot). 😁

TieDyeDude So much exposition, but a fun series. Older comics are funny. I liked the modern Neil Gaiman run, too. 3y

I enjoyed learning more about the Falcon's origins and day job outside of the MCU. My library did make me think this was part of the original Avengers series which is not the case. But it was still good!

Over 1500 pages...this thing is a beast and is the entirety of Jack Kirby's New Gods run.

I had to make it mine. Especially after reading Tom King's Mister Miracle series. That's actually what made me finally pull the trigger on this behemoth.

OwenBanner I'm a little ambivalent about it. When I heard Ragnarok was coming, I was excited for a story with so much gravitas, but the MU these days is running primarily on "levitas", so I know it's a formula that works. The trailer doesn't seem to show the sense of doom and foreboding that the premonitions in other films did, but I still think it'll be excellent any way it turns out. 7y

I do feel like Ragnarok and it's entire storyline, both Marvel and original Norse mythology, carries a weight that we're probably not going to get out of the MCU version. I'm excited to see how the movie actually plays out, though. And who knows, maybe it will end up somewhat darker than it appears. 7y
