Book #24 of the year: “The Druids” by Stuart Piggott
I was looking for a straightforward and fact-based look at the history of the Druids and Celtic culture in general. This was definitely it. Piggott looks carefully at oral tradition, primary sources from Romans, funereal customs, architecture, and early Christian writings to present a realistic picture of how little we actually know. Very dry so only read if you‘re a nerd 😂

3.5/5⭐ This is a reread for me. An informative, balanced introduction to revival Druidry, though the author speaks about current issues he's obviously not well versed in. #bookspin

This is an old friend from early adolescence and my first journeys into King Arthur/Celtic mythic fiction. Re-reading it now, years later, the writing is er…. Dense. Really dense. But, somewhat like Tolkien, very worth the magic of the journey. A unique telling of magic and what it means to be “good.”

In Kevin Hearne‘s Iron Druid series, Atticus has an Irish Wolfhound, Oberon, who‘s always hungry.

Since #Druid and Nature go together, I'm using the beauty of the world around us for today's prompt. 😁

MOTHER OF PEARL THIS BOOK SUCKED!!!
Gird your loins, because here it comes (complete with rant)...
Half the book isn‘t even about what the whole book claims to be about. The first half of the book is about the “philosopher” in Greece and Rome and what he would have heard about the Gauls from there. There is only one chapter that involved Druids. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
