I loved this book. The illustrations are incredibly sweet and the story is poignant without being heavy-handed. This one is definitely going on my list of books to buy for my nieces.

This is a great listen. As with all of Halberstam‘s work, it is meticulously researched and reads a whole lot like a novel. As to the content, it didn‘t make me any more of a Yankees fan...but as a diehard lifelong Cardinals fan, nothing is able to do that!

Just read this to my three-year-old, and he was very engaged. He was very invested in what happened to Red and Lulu. He is going to look for them when we see the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree this week.
