This was not what I was expecting. I haven't decided if I liked it or not. I think I need to reread the ending I feel I missed something, I think I was too tired (but I had to finish it! Lol).

A collection of short stories about the human condition, highlighted with the paranormal. It was ok. Definitely brought up some good discussion topics, but I'm finding I don't love paranormal writings. It takes me out of a story, especially if it's forced. If it's a fantasy book about vampires, I'm in. But if you just throw a vampire into a story, I'm out.
I was going to review this book, but the first rule of Fight Club....

Just finished this book. Really well written & engaging. I love reading books that take place in other countries/cultures. I need to read the prequel now. It's meant to postapocalypic, but it felt more like I was reading a historical fiction or even a contemporary rural storyline. Except for the few times it mentioned computers. (Cont. 👇👇)
Well that was interesting. A review on the back of the books says "unrelentingly bizarre" and I have to agree with that. If you're looking for a completely unique read, this is it. I'm not sure what to make of it all yet, but there will be some good discussions for book club.

Just finished my Book club book for Feb, I'm a little behind. My Bestie chose this book a) because we love Atwood, and b) because she heard it's like Mean Girls but for adults. It is similar to Mean Girls but only in regards to the bullying.
It's about a woman who returns to her home town, and who has to come to terms with events of her childhood.
I liked it. Not necessarily profound, for me. But relatable.
