so-soI was really enjoying this book but then there we two plot twists in the last 40 pages that felt forced. It felt like the author wanted to say a lot of things in very few pages. Not a bad read, just not a great one. Definitely a fast, easy read for #litsyatoz #x and my #doublespin book
pickThis is the first Wright novel that I have read & I was admittedly a bit apprehensive of this unpublished novel. My reservations were due to the fact that the plot made me think of Ellison's picaresque of Black identity Invisible Man & I am always a bit leery of unpublished works by acknowledged masters. Although I don't have another Wright to compare this to, I found it to be an effective, surreal & memorable journey through America that👇
