BookBabe @mom_of_4 A little background on the #BibleBuddyRead: we started in January 2022, following the 1-year plan in the book you see here in this pic, which a friend had gifted to me. Some don‘t choose to follow that book and just use the hashtag to share whatever they‘re currently reading in the Bible, whether with a different plan or no plan at all. Either way is fine, the goal is to be in the Word every day! 😊 1y

BookBabe Also, Galatians 5:16-26 is so important in teaching how to walk by the [Holy] Spirit and not in the flesh. 1y
BookBabe I really appreciate how Paul writes. I can feel the love flowing off the pages. His intros and closings especially communicate this, and it warms my heart. 1y
BookBabe An example: 1 Thess 1:2-4 “We always thank God for all of you, making mention of you constantly in our prayers. We recall, in the presence of our God and Father, your work produced by faith, your labor motivated by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you” ❤️❤️❤️ 1y
CogsOfEncouragement may have power, together with all the Lord‘s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

The podcast Real Christianity has been doing an in-depth study of Romans, I highly recommend it! BookBabe There are so many poignant verses. I think the one that has stood out the most is 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. 1y
BookBabe The most important of that passage is verse 11: "But actually, I wrote you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister and is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or verbally abusive, a drunkard or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person.” (CSB) 1y

Daisey I'm very much appreciating this read of Acts as well. I've read it through before, but having recently read more of the Old Testament, especially Isaiah, and the Gospels, it's making more of an impact this time. 2y
CogsOfEncouragement I appreciate this passage so much: But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.” Again a voice came to him a second time, “What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.”

BookBabe I am intrigued by some of the closing verses in the book of Isaiah, verses 66:22-23: “For just as the new heavens and the new earth,
which I will make,
will remain before me”—
this is the LORD's declaration—
"so your offspring and your
name will remain.
All humanity will come to worship me
from one New Moon to another
and from one Sabbath to another,”
says the LORD.

quirkyreader Isaiah teaches us not to give up on God. He does things in his own time when he knows it‘s right. Isaiah builds upon the teachings from Job. And then Jeremiah builds upon the teachings of Isaiah. It all moves in circles. 2y

‭‭Song of Solomon‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬ This is one of my favorites. It makes me think about what a blessing we are to our husband in this life that can be difficult.

It‘s time for some #WeeklyWrapUp book talk for the #BibleBuddyRead!

This past week we read the entire book of Ecclesiastes, as well as Psalms 97-106.
I‘m really curious what you thought of Ecclesiastes in particular…for me, this reading was very different from my first.

Favorite (or most memorable) verse(s) from the week?

What are your thoughts/takeaways?

What stood out to you the most from what we read?

Daisey My favorite passage is the beginning of Ecclesiastes chapter 3. It continually reminds me that things change and we don‘t always have to do the same things. 2y
CogsOfEncouragement I agree with Daisey Ecc 3:1-8 helps me keep things in perspective. I need to focus on the priorities of the season I am in. I strive to enjoy each season - for instance: my kids are nearly grown, I do not mourn for when they were tiny, I enjoy life with them at this stage. 2y

It‘s time for some #WeeklyWrapUp book talk for the #BibleBuddyRead!

This past week we read the entire Gospel of John. ❤️

What was your favorite (or most memorable) verse or verses that you read this week?

What stood out to you the most from what we read?

What did you learn?

BookBabe As I mentioned in my previous separate post, I was really floored that Jesus actually prayed for us, His believers, in John 17:20–26. I‘ve read John before, definitely 3.5 years ago when I was first saved, and probably again after that, but it really struck me differently this time. Everything was so much more real and vivid and poignant. I‘m sure some of that has to do with a more mature walk, and might also be partly thanks to the CSB version. 2y
CogsOfEncouragement One of the great encouragements from John is that he records many times Jesus slips away from angry leaders, a crowd wanting to make Him king or those who would kill him. His crucifixion was at His will and at His time.

Okay #BibleBuddyRead friends, who would like to share some thoughts on the first 21 chapters of Job? 😬

Verses that stood out?

BookBabe I‘ll go first… I have a lot of thoughts… 😮 🤔 Well, my main takeaway is that Job did an astoundingly good job of not sinning in his distress. This is a man who really has mastered walking in the spirit and not in the flesh. Still praising God even after all the misfortune that has befallen him. 🙌🏻 2y
BookBabe Also, is anyone else thinking that Job is not going to have friends after this? 😬 At first when his friends came and sat to mourn with him for seven days without even speaking a word, I thought “wow, what compassionate and loyal friends he has.” But then once they opened their mouths, well, yikes. 😳 I don‘t think they‘re going to be friends anymore after this, do you? 😬 2y

quirkyreader For this I‘m going back to notes from 2019, when I study this chapter on another cycle I know that I will have more. What stood out at that time was 1:21, 4:5-6, 4:17, 5:2, 5:9, 8:13-19, 11:11-12, and 21:22. 2y
