The Nightingale | Kristin Hannah

I finished this early this week, and just realized I didn‘t review it yet.

I mostly listened to the audiobook, which was well done. I felt at times that the writing and characters were a bit simplistic, but as I got deeper in the story I enjoyed it more and more. While this isn‘t my favorite WWII historical fiction I‘ve read, I did like it a lot and it‘s definitely a pick.

#fiercefeb one of my YA favourites , this novel is guaranteed to bring on the ugly sobs you‘ll be saying #goodmorningheartbreak . You must then watch the movie for the total 😭 experience.

batsy Good pick... I haven't watched or read yet because I heard about the 😭💔 1y

Centique I have yet to read the book but I‘m so in love with the movie. One I bought to rewatch again and again 😍 1y
Dragon I think I love the movie and the book equally. @Centique but you cry a lot longer reading the book as it takes longer. 😢 1y
Autumnscribe I loved this book! I actually read it while my mom was going through an encore performance of breast cancer. Everyone thought I was nuts. Maybe I was. But to be honest it really helps. The book is so life affirming. Live. Love. And savor each whenever you get the chance. 1y
Dragon Thanks @Autumnscribe I hope your mother is well now. Hazel was such an inspirational character. 1y
Autumnscribe @Dragon she is much much better now. It was a long and bumpy ride but one that is over for now. :) and yes, Hazel is awesome! 1y

This a funny and sassy, heartbreaking story of the life of Lily and Ted, before octopus and after octopus. 🐙 I laughed, fell in love with Lily and #uglycried. If you've ever lost a loved one (animal or human) this book is for you. #allthefeels #allthebooks #booktober #TeamLily

AwkwardlyAlive I've heard this is so good!! 3y
