We got a few inches of snow last night. Oliver is in love. He‘s been running around on the back porch eating the snow. He thinks he‘s a husky & can sit outside all day. He‘s currently sulking because I won‘t let him back outside (he was already outside playing with the kids too).
pickAs I'm reading all this illustrator's work we have in our library, I'm just in awe of the art and the detail put into this book. With very few words, the picture really tells the story in this book. It's basically what happens outside your home while you sleep in the winter. Just beautiful.

pick4 ⭐I am amazingly surprised. I was expecting not to like this book because I do not like the front cover. The front cover seems old and dated and like something I would see in my childhood 20 years ago. However, the pages on the inside are beautifully illustrated and they work with the story and its rhymes well. It has a cadence and sometimes the cadence is a little sharp but altogether it works. The story is memorable and cute.

It‘s been a snowy day here in my part of Boston. So it‘s been a good day to sit & read. My reading buddy is hoping for an early spring.
