Against popular opinion, I wanted to DNF Morning Star and only didn‘t because it was the final in a trilogy. Darrow should have died a hundred times and the war went round in circles. Perhaps I just don‘t like space fantasies. I was surprised by the twist at the end which was interesting and well-thought out but again, unrealistic. An aspect I liked was the development of this one from the first one in terms of maturity, language and gore though.

I really enjoyed this book because I was very intrigued early on and then I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the character development of Lysander and I enjoy reading from perspectives of both sides of a conflict. There were a lot of plot twists I didn't expect and I'm excited to read the next book. I want to see if Sevro survived and what will happen between Darrow and Cassius.

#12Booksof2023 on the 4th day of Christmas my favorite book of April was Golden Son, part of the Red Rising Saga.

Andrew65 Loved that book and really need to get back to this series. I stopped after the initial trilogy. (edited) 4mo

They turn their glowing evil red eyes toward .e, and I laugh when they do not fire, for I am a spirit warrior and I point my rifle at them, pull the trigger, and shit down my leg, because I am alone amongst a pack of hunterkiller robots and it is no rifle in my hand, it is only a mop. P. 350

This book as a little different than the previous ones in the series because it hops back and forth between the perspectives of different characters. I enjoy that it includes the perspective of Lysander since he was previously considered an "enemy".
The book ends on a cliffhanger and I'm curious to read more!

currentlyreadinginCO Dark Age & Light Bringer are my favorites of the series so far, I hope that you love them!!! 4mo

This was epic, action packed and absolutely heartbreaking. I am very glad I waited until the next book was out before reading this one. If I didn‘t have several library holds up I would go right to Light Bringer, but I definitely want to see what happens next in this fantastic space opera. 5⭐️
