This was funny, light but nuanced, and overall a clever subversion of familiar tropes (& stereotypes/double binds familiar to most women with time and experience). I think it pairs well with the traditional fairytales mentioned (Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel) to offer grounding and an alternate perspective. ⚖️🤷🏻♀️💅🏻✨💖

Tangled is her new favourite (along with Encanto, of course), so she was THRILLED with her hair today. This was after a 2 hour dog walk in the wind and rain and wanted a picture of her "princess punzel hair" ??
pickI like fairytale retellings that center on the villain backstory. This is the "evil witch" from Rapunzel. As if the book people wouldn't know that. This is a really good story and I appreciate what the author did with it. It has been on my want to read for a while.
