Delightful. My partner just came home from the local book shop with this. So affirming. A beautiful picture book. If this is my last read for 2023 it's a great one.

#AutumnPlease! Day 27: Nigel and the #Moon made me wonder why adults often assume that young people would only want to be one thing when they grow up. It also begs the question of how realistic should young people‘s dreams be. Maybe dreaming more than one dream is, in itself, a subversive, revolutionary act in a world that demands you to be only one thing, and never all than you can possibly be. The Proudest Blue tells the story of a young Muslim girl, Faizah, as she and her sister Asiya embrace diversity and express their identity through their hijabs. This beautifully illustrated book teaches the importance of self-confidence and respect for differences

I would use this book in my classroom to teach children about acceptance. This book is about LGBT pride celebration. I would use this book to teach respect, acceptance, and understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. It teaches children that we are all united.

This book uses color to convey meaning. This book is about LGBT pride celebration. Each page on the book uses colors of the rainbow. Some of the pages on the book are mostly one color. For example, there is a page that consists of mostly red. In the LGBT flag, red is used to represent life.
