Hare and Tortoise | Alison Murray
post image

Hare and Tortoise by Alison Murray is a great TL story that would be a nice lesson for the classroom. Of course, it tells how slow and steady can still win the race and you don‘t have to be the fastest. I would use the strategy of RA, so the students can all listen and discuss when the story is done.
http://www.cpalms.org/Public/PreviewResourceLesson/Preview/60046. The UDL I would use is 3.3, guide information processing and visualization.

jmartucci I would use ESOL strategy 10 and have them use think, pair, share to discuss the story. #ucflae3414su19 3w
Estradan The resource you provided is great for 1st graders to learn about fables and learn about characters. The ESOL strategy you aligned it with fits perfectly with this resource because it‘ll give students to discuss what they thought the message of the story was. 3w
alexialovesmith This book would make a perfect read aloud. I used to love this story as a child, so giving students the opportunity to listen and then discuss it with one another is awesome! 3w
DrSpalding Going straight to our department of education website is a smart move Jaclyn. I‘m adding this version to my stack. Quality traditional literature and current variants are excellent read aloud‘s in the primary classroom. 2w

I‘m turning full #pride for 21st birthday, with some book-ish gifts, a gorgeous jumpsuit and a long skirt, this wonderful bag in deep blue and of course, this book. I‘ve heard only positive things about it, it sounds a lot like fanfiction, WHICH I LOVE TO READ, so my expectations are high.

We Were Always Here: A Queer Words Anthology | Ryan VANCE, Michael Lee RICHARDSON
post image

From drag queens and discos, to black holes and monsters, these stories and poems wrestle with love and loneliness and the fight to be seen. By turns serious and fantastical, hilarious and confrontational, We Were Always Here addresses the fears, mysteries, wonders and variety of experience that binds our community together.

kaysworld1 @jpmcwisemorgan hello there I saw you have stacked this book if you wouldn't mind me asking where do you live? I could send it to you if you want xx 2mo
jpmcwisemorgan That‘s so sweet! I live in Austin and I tell you this not so you‘ll send the book. I‘d be happy to read it but I know I won‘t have time to read it and I bet there‘s someone on Litsy who would love to have it who would have the time to read it. 😀 2mo
kaysworld1 @jpmcwisemorgan No problem hun. When I'm done with my books they just go to charity anyway. 2mo
jpmcwisemorgan That‘s where a lot of mine go too, unless they‘re ebooks and I just keep those forever I guess. 😉 2mo

Finished this lovely, funny, warm romance novel tonight. It's as fabulous as everyone says it is. It practically glimmers with sweetness and heart. 💖🏳️‍🌈👑

Spent the day at Seattle #Pride with my daughter and her best friend. We had a blast and now I'm ready to lay down with a book and get some rest.

Fridameetslucy Happy pride from NYC pride! 2mo
marleed My brother spent time as the editor of the Seattle Gay News. He was unfortunately of the generation of gay men who was not able to grow old. He would be so proud of Seattle and this month. 2mo
LokiDokey @marleed I will have to look up the paper/publication, that sounds really cool. Last year was the first time I ever went to Pride and I was really worried because I didn't know what to expect but my daughter really wanted to go and I am so glad we did. Everyone is so friendly and loving and it the parade and festival are so family friendly. 2mo
LokiDokey @Fridameetslucy thank you. Happy Pride to you 🏳️‍🌈 2mo

I‘m proud of them for living their lives openly, and learning to be comfortable in their own skin. I‘m proud of them for having the courage to come forward as their true selves, in spite of difficulties that they may face. I choose love and acceptance. And if other people can‘t accept that, then I‘d just assume they don‘t follow me anyway.

Prairiegirl_reading It‘s sad to hear that you lost some followers. I‘ll be adding this book to my tbr for sure. 2mo
GypsyKat @BookHoarder32 One of the things I‘ve always loved about Litsy, is that even though it‘s a group of readers, people don‘t typically call others out for their occasional typos or errors. 😕 2mo
GypsyKat @Prairiegirl_reading It‘s so good! Definitely worth the read! I hope you love it as much as I did! ❤️ 2mo

When Oscar Wilde visited Walt Whitman he saw a book that Whitman had inscribed for a friend. This is now on exhibit at the Morgan Lubrary in NYC. I am so touched that Wilde wanted to leave something that indelible connected the two. He wrote”The spirit who living so blamelessly yet dared to kiss the smitten mouth of his own century” #pride

Here is my stack for the #24B4Monday #readathon . The Long Black Veil, The Lie, and American Fix are all written by LGBT authors for #pride , although American Fix is about fixing the opioid crisis.

@TheReadingMermaid @andrew65 @jb72

I hope real life does not interfere too much with my reading this weekend.

jb72 Good choices. 🤗 2mo
