A Year Down Yonder | Richard Peck
post image

It‘s been quite a while since I read this book with year in the title, but I remember enjoying each of Peck‘s books that I‘ve read. Additionally, this was the Newbery Medal winner for 2001.

Join us in sharing a middle grade book today!

TheBookHippie I enjoyed this whole series! 1d
Daisey @TheBookHippie I am the worst at finishing series. I think this is the only one I actually read although at least 2 are on my shelf. 16h
Karisimo I have read a few of Peck‘s but I don‘t think I‘ve read this one! 2h

Pickpick

I‘ve had this book on my class shelves for years but never read it myself. It was a lovely story about community and hope. I loved seeing Marly‘s joy in everything she learned from the names of beautiful spring flowers to all about tapping trees for maple syrup.

MemoirsForMe I also loved viewing the world through the joyful eyes of Marly. 🙌🏻❤️ 1mo

Books like this clever sci-fi thriller (middle-grade) remind me why I continue to read the Newbery winners. The audio was wonderful.

This #Newbery honor book is a beautiful, touching story of two young girls coming to terms with the loss of their baby sister. #ItHadToBeYou #lovelost @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs

My theme this year is "Award Winners Edition"
The John #Newbery Medal is awarded annually for the most distinguished American children's book published the previous year. Started in 1922, it was the first children's book award in the world.
@megnews

JaclynW Fun theme! I'm liking your choices. Some I've read (all excellent). Now I have more to add to my list. 5y
