A one-day vacation read that was a perfect vacation read! I did see almost all of it coming but it was still fun to watch everything unravel. And this was my first Sally Hepworth, shockingly! Need to read more

Subbing in the school library today. Bittersweet because this is the library where I‘d hoped to work. They still haven‘t hired a permanent person. Makes me feel kind of put out. They didn‘t even interview me.
Book was hands down a favorite. I couldn‘t put it down. This author is my favorite with her twists and descriptions.
As a new nurse practitioner at a maximum-security prison, Brooke Sullivan is taught three crucial rules:
Treat all prisoners with respect.
Never reveal any personal information.
Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates.
But nobody knows that Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary's most notorious and dangerous inmates
Held captive from the first chapter,it was another thriller read that was just too good to put down that I ended up reading in one day.The tension and suspense were almost too much for me to bear whilst reading this book, it was such a wild ride. The darkness of some of the characters and the twists left me spellbound by Jennifer's writing. One of my favourite thriller writers an autobuy author for me, her books are truly addictive reading.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I flew through this story and was genuinely moved by it. Although many readers share my positive reaction, I have noticed that there are quite a few who disliked it. I saw common complaints about disliking the MC, her repetitiveness, and believability issues. I'll admit the MC's thoughts were repetitive, and some story elements strained credibility, but neither bothered me much—I was too invested in the story for it to diminish my enjoyment.
