Just watched the movie of this book for #MovieBookClub, Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It was a very charming movie found on Netflix. Set in New Zealand.

monalyisha I freaking LOVED this movie! That “Ricky Baker” tune gets stuck in my head *regularly.* 😅 2y
DrexEdit THERE'S A BOOK!? ? "I didn't choose the skux life. The skux life chose me." ??? that movie. I've watched it at least 3 times now. Must. Now. Read. Book! ? 2y
TheRiehlDeal I absolutely loved this movie the first time I saw it. There were some parts that were just absolute laugh out loud moments. 2y

The movie was as creepy as the book but the book was more interesting. #moviebookclub

@Jb72

DivineDiana The book was creepy enough for me! No desire to look further. 😳 5y

SamHeartCoffee Love Alan Rickman too! 5y
jb72 LOL it is so weird and creepy! So glad you finished it. I was creeped out to the max with some of the movie scenes. The whole living in a cave was complete off the rails. And the ending?!?!? What in the world?!?! 5y

Reading this for #moviebookclub. I'm not sure if I like it yet or not. It feels a little noir.

My latest read for #moviebookclub
I'm not sure how all these people being introduced in the beginning will tie together but it's holding my interest.

#moviebookclub tomorrow. I bailed on the book. Hope I like the movie better.

tournevis The film is wonderful, very dream lime, but you have to let yourself be carried by it. It is not for everyone. Most of it is noy set in reality; it's memory and flight of fancy. 6y
LibrarianRyan The movie is interesting. It's a feast for the eyes and can be hard to follow. 6y

This is just so-so for me. It's a string of short vignettes about this guy's larger-than-life father. Reading it for #moviebookclub or I might bail. It is a short book though.

RebelReader I didn't read the book, but I saw the movie and liked it. 6y
ReadingVampire The movie was great!!! 💜💜💜 Never read the book, maybe its one of those better in the film than the book moments? 🤔📚 6y

I think this would have been a really good book had I read it instead of listening to it. I think it was diary entries between 2 magicians and then the ending got wierd. I read it for movie/book club and the movie has a really good rating.
