pickI was excited to randomly pick this Koontz book off of my shelf, as I‘ve been meaning to read it for ages. It was okay-Koontz is entertaining but not quite the level of Stephen King for me. It was intense from the first page to the last, for sure. And the female MC made so many stupid decisions throughout!
Mostly, I just felt like this story was dark. Perhaps because the news has been so dark too recently? I enjoyed it, but it felt really dark.

pickThis book was so creepy and twisted. Koontz is one of my favorite horror authors.

I loved this book; it wasn‘t my favorite of his, but it definitely had twists and turns that I didn‘t see coming. It had me on the edge of my seat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I haven‘t been enjoying this book series nearly so much as his Odd Thomas series. I do like the relationship between Carson and Michael but I don‘t think it‘s enough to sustain the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

so-soI‘ve liked Koontz‘s books & the striking cover had me hoping this #KindleUnlimited title‘d be fun, but this listen fell flat to me. I wasn‘t expecting it to be quite so fantastical. Vida lives in a remote property, making her living illegally mining for gemstones & is so in tune with nature she‘s never had so much as a mosquito bite. Her BFF is a half wolf/half shepherd leader of a pack but when a billionaire murders her fiancé, she seeks justice.
pickA slowly unfolding mystery with a strong female lead character. A sprinkle of romance, some interesting bad guys, with wolves and dogs and a touch of the supernatural. Enjoyable read, although the first 1/3 of the book feels like Koontz swallowed a thesaurus. The MC lives remotely and I believe he was trying to set that scene, but it was more distracting than helpful. Still recommended, and know the last 2/3s is more normal.
