@dabbe #ThreeListThursday #TLT I love the golden age of movies 🎥 and my favourite actresses are 1. Katherine Hepburn - Philadelphia Story ( with Carey Grant is a favourite). 2. Bette Davis - All About Eve or Dark Victory are my faves 3. Colette Colbert - It Happened One Night is my fave ( I love the part at the end when the horn blows and you know the Wall of Jericho is tumbling down

#tlt #threelistthursday Thanks @TheSpineView for the tag!

1) Ingrid Bergman (isn‘t Casablanca the best??)
2) Maggie Smith (ahhh, Downton Abbey)
3) Elizabeth Taylor (those violet eyes, I loved her in National Velvet; and my grandpa met her when he changed her tire when she had a flat in Marfa, Texas when she was filming Giant. She went on to bigger and better things and Grandpa did, too. He eventually became mayor of Marfa. 😊

TheBookHippie I agree Elizabeth Taylor!!! ♥️♥️ 9h
Susanita Ingrid Bergman is stunning in Casablanca! 9h
Leftcoastzen I long to visit Marfa! 8h

3 favorite actresses from any era:

1. Audrey Hepburn never fails, can do no wrong

2. Ava Gardner, visited the museum dedicated to her in her hometown of Smithfield, N.C., and her gravesite

3. Grace Kelly

Did I really mean to read a book about F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s last few years and Zelda‘s hospitalization? No. But I did want to read an O‘Nan story. Somehow the author kept my interest through his writing style, even as the book began to lag. Not necessarily O‘Nan‘s fault - I mean how many times can you make it interesting that Fitzgerald fell off the wagon yet again? Would I recommend the book? Probably not. But I enjoyed O‘Nan‘s effort.

BarbaraBB I always enjoy O‘Nan too. I haven‘t read this one though 20h
Suet624 @BarbaraBB this might be a good one to skip. :)

A delightful coffee table book containing photos of silver screen legends looking at books. The captions make some effort to discern the true readers from obvious publicity staging. They actually put some effort into trying to determine the book as well, when the cover is obscured.

TheBookHippie I love this book. 3w

Interesting. A story about the life of Loretta Young starting shortly before she meets Clark Gable. Not my genre, but a very interesting read/listen. You have to admire the woman and all that she accomplished.

Not entirely sure how I feel with this one. It wasn‘t what I had in mind, but it was good nonetheless. It got to be a bit repetitive at times for me and so it didn‘t have me all hooked. Either way, the plot was interesting and I enjoyed it.

Blacklisted actor Paul Robeson summed it up best in a letter he wrote to Charlie: "...fascists everywhere hated you for your anti-Nazi film, The Great Dictator. Well, Hitler and his gang are gone, but Chaplin and his art lives on! And your name will be honored --yes, here in America, too --long after McCarthy and his kind are buried in oblivion.".

Indeed.

CatLass007 I saw the great Avery Brooks off-Broadway as Paul Robeson. It was just him and his piano accompanist. What a wonderful show. I think it even had a limited run on Broadway. I should read this book about Chaplin. 2mo
