These prism glasses allow me to read in bed without straining my neck. Where have these beauties been all my life? 👀

LibraryThing has a cool little feature that shows you, once you've catalogued your books, how tall they would be if stacked. My family's collection (in black) is apparently taller than even the tallest stone structure ever made (the Washington Monument)!

Bookwomble That's an impressive stack! 📚 12mo

I've been a bit absent from Litsy this year because I haven't been home much, but summer holidays are over now so things are getting back to normal. We broke our drive hone from Canberra yesterday with a visit to Lady Gail's Bookshop in Holbrook. There are 3 rooms, this is just one. Book haul pic to follow.

Ruthiella I was kinda hoping this was as a picture of your home library! 😂 1y
LeahBergen I‘m salivating. 😆 1y

Title that begins with the letter W
Although Watchmen might not be my favorite Alan Moore novel, I find myself thinking about it often. War of the Worlds is my second fave Wells' novel, right behind Island of Dr. Moreau. Zamyatin's We is an incredibly influential & interesting dystopian novel. It deserves a wider audience, esp considering how popular 1984 (a great novel) is. A W title that is very close to my heart is the collection

vivastory of literary inspired tattoos The Word Made Flesh. I myself have 3 literary inspired tattoos & have toyed with the idea of another. This is a fantastic collection of thoughtful & impressive skin artwork & it was released around the time I received my most recent lit tattoo. PS: If you are interested, you can scroll down in the feed of the tagged book for a pic of one of my poetry related tattoos. (edited) 2y

I submitted 3 literary tattoo designs to an artist whose books opened yesterday! One is inspired by American Gods; the goddess Easter has forget-me-nots tattooed around her left wrist. Another, Harold and the Purple Crayon. It would be a pie with a purple jam smear & a crayon crescent moon. The third comes from my love of the ocean, & a color essay entitled, “Glaucous, the Greeny Blue of Epic Poetry and Succulents” by Katy Kelleher for The Awl.

monalyisha Getting a tattoo appointment feels like a super competitive market right now, so who knows if I‘ll even get a response…but I‘d love all three of these! 2y

Me walking into Barnes and Noble: “There aren‘t any books I want to buy right now. It‘s safe to walk around.” And then I found out they were having good sales 🤦🏻‍♀️
Me arriving home, to my spouse: “You are allowed to judge me.” (He never would though)
Bookhaul inspired by getting antsy to buy a house. And it‘s National Puzzle month so they are buy one get one half off at B&N. These were too cute to pass up and perfect for weekend getaways.

Tamra I‘m curious about the Bittman bread book! (edited) 2y

JamieArc @Tamra Me too! I dabbled in bread baking using the tagged book years ago, and have been craving to do it again. Bittman‘s book lays things out pretty simply at first glance. I‘ll try to remember to tag you when I try it out! (edited) 2y
BiblioLitten I hope you love it. One of my favourites. 😊 2y
Tamra @JamieArc please do! 😁 Thanks for the recommendation. 2y

merelybookish Well done! Funny how some of the best book buying is when you don't want anything in particular! 2y
JamieArc @merelybookish Thanks 😂 I‘ll have to remember that! 2y
