Mehso-so

Blech. I‘m just not enjoying this series, it started strong but has veered into a realm that doesn‘t do it for me. But with only one book left, I have to finish!

Book 11/14 for #14books14weeks2023 (better late than never!)

Balibee146 I agree this series went off the boil but think the last book had some good points. Writer constantly decaribes people faces as "all angles" or something like that too if I recall correctly. Weirdly I have these books in the boot of my car to be donated right now. 5mo
janeycanuck @Balibee146 Oh, that‘s good to know about the last book. I‘ve been wanting to know how it ends not actually take the time to read it so this will make it easier to pick up! (edited) 5mo

I enjoyed this one so much more than the first. I was laughing out loud quite often and man, I hope I have a gang like these folks when I am retired.

Book 12/14 for #14books14weeks2023 (really stretching those 14 weeks….)

mrsmarch That mug 😂 5mo
JenReadsAlot I didn't really care for the first one, but @RaeLovesToRead said I need to give the 2nd book a chance!! 5mo
janeycanuck @mrsmarch It‘s from Effin‘ Birds. So many funny things!! 5mo

janeycanuck @JenReadsAlot I was fine with the first one but also read The Marlow Murder Club around the same time and much preferred it. But this second one was much better, if you ask me. Much funnier and interesting. But it‘ll depend on what you didn‘t like about the first. 5mo
TheHeartlandBookFairy I've got one more, I've stretched it out, too 😅 5mo
janeycanuck @TheHeartlandBookFairy 2 more still on my TBR cart. Fingers crossed for end of November!! 5mo
Bookish.SAM Love that mug tucked in there! 3mo
janeycanuck @Bookish.SAM haha! It‘s a fav!! 3mo

Summer Reading: Closing the Rich/Poor Reading Achievement Gap | Anne McGill-Franzen, Richard L. Allington

The goal was 14 books from the tbr in 14 weeks, Memorial Day to Labor Day.
I read 10! I forgot to include 1 in this collage, but it‘s fitting because I forgot to put 1 in the initial stack post. 😅
Thank you for the challenge @TheHeartlandBookFairy !
1 Becoming
2 Fall Into Darkness
3 What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?
4 Horse
5 Marvel‘s Voices: Pride
6 The Summer Wives
7 Wool
8 Empire of Wild
9 Death Comes for the Archbishop
10 Quicksilver

Ruthiella Nice work! 👍 7mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag Excellent work on the TBR stack 📚 7mo

The Reading List: A Novel | Sara Nisha Adams

Kinda like if Phaedra Patrick and Beth O‘Leary teamed up - heartwarming & gut punching all in one book.

Book 10 for #14books14weeks2023 (and I did get it finished before the end of the 14 weeks. This might be the best I‘ve ever done!)

This is my TBR for the September monthlong #SummerEndReadathon . Five are for Group Reads…I may have overcommitted 😬😂. Two are left over from #14Books14Weeks2023 . Two are library books that just need to be read.

willaful I'm quite positive I overcommitted. 😱 7mo
TheSpineView Great list! Good luck! 7mo
Ruthiella @willaful 😂 We‘ll get through it, one page at a time. 7mo

Three POVs and letters from the past was a lot to keep track of and Feeney overhyped at least one thing that she was trying to plant seeds for but enjoyable nonetheless

Book 9 for #14books14weeks2023

ShyBookOwl I keep starting and stopping this one within the first chapter 😕 7mo
janeycanuck @ShyBookOwl the first couple of chapters aren‘t great, everyone feels like sullen teenagers 😬 7mo
ShyBookOwl @janeycanuck 🤣 That must be my problem with it! 7mo

Well, I managed to read 13 of the planned #14Books14Weeks2023 between Memorial Day and Labor Day. I‘ll read the 14th and my back up 15th hopefully by the end of this year if not next month. 🤞😬 Thank you @TheHeartlandBookFairy for making this fun challenge. It‘s one of my favorites!

Bookwormjillk Nicely done! I loved City of Thieves. You‘re in for a treat. 7mo
merelybookish Well done! 👏👏I read the O'Brien years ago and that first story has stayed with me. 7mo
Ruthiella @Bookwormjillk Thanks! I‘m looking forward to City of Thieves. 😀 7mo
