pickMy 4th grader enjoyed this historical fiction tale surrounding the Mayflower voyage. Historically accurate, yet adds in fantasy& jokes. A substitute history teacher &his time-traveling horse take students back to 1620. Covers the Puritans time in Holland, England, across the ocean, the 1st settlement, the meeting of Indians,& ends with the 1st thanksgiving. I personally found the horse a bit annoying but my kiddo adored him.
pickA friend suggested I read a Rush Revere book. I would have loved to have these to read to my boys when they were young. A combo of history and humor. How can you go wrong with a talking horse?
I didn't even crack this one before I #threwitacrosstheroom. It came as a passive-aggressive Christmas gift from my in-laws to my children. My husband literally burned the damn thing in one particularly satisfying bonfire. #photoadaynov16
