Now this isn't a bad book. It's Strand. It can't be bad but that cover tells me to dig in for disfigurement, murder, secrets, horror. Sure, the book has all this in a weird backwoods town kind of way but it takes a back burner to the weirdest love story laced with trying way too hard comedic relief attempts. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

I started this latest as an ARC and honestly, wasn't feeling it so I'm going to give it another try and see if my feelings change. I figure I'll hardly stick to my list at all. Too many books, not enough month! I do want to do a picture book list too but I think that's going to be an impulse library day 😊 3y

Twainy I‘m cracking up! This is in my Audible wish list. To be fair that list is probably 30 pages long. This author has co-written a couple of fun horror books. I reviewed one here plus Draculas was good also. Blisters got 4.5 stars. It looks deliciously horrible! The cover alone!! ICK! Happy Halloween 😆 5y

Another book out of my comfort zone. Well, I couldn't put it down! This book is laugh out loud funny. Basically a dark comedy... A very funny one. Most of the humor is in the beginning but there's never a dull moment from start to finish. It's about a disfigured girl, that is the town "freak", living in her dad's shed. She befriends a stranger from out of town that was peeking through her window. After that all hell breaks loose!
