A satisfying second installment in the DCI Banks series. I love the setting in England and the descriptions of scenery and main characters. I will continue to part 3!

Influenced by the BritBox show,I started reading inspector Allen Bank series. This # two in the series captivated me from the start.A former professor,a “dedicated man,” inherited money & moves to the Yorkshire Dales to pursue his archaeological work.Everyone seems to love him,& yet he‘s found bludgeoned to death. What secrets are people holding, past in present?I was mesmerized & carried along as Banks pursued one lot of inquiry after another.⬇️

Watching UConn Women play Arkansas State & reading this Chief Inspector Banks #2 mystery. #serieslove2025

Bk4 of May is done. The 2nd DCI Banks was better than the 1st, though still very much of the late 80s. Banks is called to the discovery of a body in Helmthorpe, a small village near Eastvale. A retired History professor has had his head bashed in & buried under a drystone wall. A complicated case is laid out with twists, turns & another murder thrown in. Really enjoyed this one again. #SeriesLove2024 #BacklistReadathon #ReadAway2024

And that‘s a wrap on my December #BookSpin! I really enjoyed this mystery, the second of the DCI Banks series. The characters are developing nicely, and the mystery itself was so well done. High marks indeed! My library has the next book on audio, so I think that‘s in my future.
9 books read from my #BookSpinBingo card. Not too shabby in the end.
