Maud has been in an asylum for 5 years but how did she get there? She has no memories of her past but can hypnotherapy bring her memories back and will she want to remember. This book was so good I read it all in one sitting! It was dark, mysterious, emotional and a real page turner. 5 ⭐️

so-so

Just a so so for me on this one. I'm not really a reader of gothic type fiction, so maybe it's me. I just found it a bit repetitive in places, and I would have liked more time seeing the development some of the relationships - I thought we were going to get a really interesting mentor-mentee things with certain flashbacks, but it didn't really show enough for me to care about that in the end. Looking forward to discussing this week. #gladstonerds

Oryx I wanted more scientist Maud. And I also didn't get at all any reason why she would like Harry other than the fact that he was the only one around... I felt like that needed more development too. 3y

squirrelbrain I feel the same as you (forgot to post my review ☺️). I‘m not a huge gothic fan either and this was too soon after Wakenhyrst for me. You‘re right in that there wasn‘t enough backstory- there could have been so much more; it was a bit superficial. 3y

ravenlee Well done you! @TrishB I can‘t give blood either - my first experience involved passing out twice, being wheeled out to my mother‘s car, and being mostly incapacitated for two days. I wish I could be a hero like @Oryx ! 3y

Centique @TrishB I used to give blood all the time but nope they don‘t want me after cancer! I understand of course. Eventually they‘ll let me give blood again they say.... so yay for all the wonderful people who can do it and put the time in to do it! 🙌🙌🙌 I‘m so glad it made such a difference for you Trish. 3y
