I'll read anything Roxan Gay writes.

I don‘t feel that I can accurately rate this as I‘m not entirely sure I got it. Interesting premise, liked the characters, but I couldn‘t really connect with it. For the most part graphic novels aren‘t my thing, so I think that‘s where I‘m missing out.

On the upside, I‘ve been averaging a book a day so far this year. It can‘t last, but I‘m thrilled to be 10 books in already! Last January was my low reading point, so this feels much better.

I had never even heard of this, but my #library had it for loan, and I loved the idea of a sci-fi graphic novel written by Roxane Gay! I wasn't disappointed with it. An interesting premise about how the actions of the main character's father have repurcussions for the society, and how the society at large won't let his family forget or move on. Also discusses the effects of corporate greed and overworking lower classes can have on people

I love that Hiram's dad and Hiram himself both had a very philosophical and nearly religious view of mining that they passed on to the next generation.

This #graphicnovel is based on Gay's short story of the same name from Difficult Women. It took an already wonderful story and fleshed it out. Loved this and the art was amazing.
