Christmas baking day. This year I am reduced to sitting on a stool but I still plan to make all these goodies like usual. These knees WILL NOT defeat me!
pickThe title is somewhat misleading. Most of the book is not centered around Christmas. The title is referring to the feeling of the holidays. At the heart, the story is about love and friendship and how those can help you heal. Loved the character of Jenny and how she was able to find herself while cleaning out her grandmother's home. A feel good story, not earth shattering. I liked because of the characters. 3.5ish to 4 ⭐️
I have a few Audible Plus free listens that are going away at the end of the month. So, that‘s why I‘ve got a couple of Christmas titles going this week. ☃️
panDon't be misled like I was. This is not really a Christmas book despite the title.
Jenny is a 20-something. My irritation with her stems mainly from the writing style because it involved lots of Jenny's inner thoughts that were mostly woe to me, even when she sees the struggles others are going through. I just wanted to yell at her, YOU ARE NOT ALONE JENNY. MOST OF US ARE BROKEN AND HAVE ISSUES. Her whole attitude was irritating. 👇🏻

pickThis was a very enjoyable read, but despite the title Christmas hardly was part of the book. This is available free to download from Audible if you are a member, the ebook is also free on Kindle Unlimited.

pickI was expecting just a light-hearted, predictable, fluffy romance, but there is a lot of spirit in this book that IMO lifts it above average. Main character Jenny is flawed but develops throughout the book, there‘s a good mix of humour and pathos, and sufficient interesting stories beyond the central will-they-won‘t-they-(of-course-they-will-that‘s-how-these-books-work) romance to keep the reader hooked. A very pleasant surprise.
pickThis really wasn't very Christmassy, but it was a super cute and fun read!
Sometimes one needs some cheesy chick lit to brighten the mood. So far there hasn't been much Christmas at all, but there's been a whole lot of cute so I'm okay with it.
