Corgiville Fair | 
I'm chronicling Amy's last weekend at home, which we are calling her Victory Lap. She's getting all sorts of treats and special experiences, like riding with the window down, visiting the girls daycare, and visits from her best friends. Tonight the 48 hour clock begins counting down and something so simple as drinking water, going out for potty, or navigating a stair gets applause. Even prednisone is barely making her life easier. 👇🏻

mrsmarch I was laying in bed reading and I started to wonder where she had gone. She turned up her nose at her dinner but she got a lot of treats today and there's not a lot of room for her stomach anymore so maybe she doesn't feel like it. Or maybe she knows there isn't long left. Tomorrow her breeder comes to say goodbye. 👇🏻 7y
mrsmarch Anyway, I wondered where she is, and her breathing is so shallow she's virtually silent unless you're next to her. And here in the pitch black doorway of the baby's nursery, I found the dragon guarding the door. One last time. (edited) 7y

mrsmarch @DGRachel I'm silently weeping in bed right now. I lifted her up to the foot of our bed in the cross breeze from the windows where she has a pile of pillows to drape herself on that seem to make it easier to breathe. I'm terrified if something happens in the night and she's not right at my side I won't know it. 7y

mrsmarch I'm sorry to make you all cry too but Litsy is such a safe and loving place it's the only place I can bear to let my heart break. I know I have to keep my composure as much as possible for my family because they're aching too and as mothers we are the anchor no matter how much we are hurting too (edited) 7y
