Bury Them Deep
Bury Them Deep: Inspector Mclean 10 | JAMES. OSWALD
4 posts | 3 read
The tenth book in the Sunday Times-bestselling Inspector McLean series, from one of Scotland's most celebrated crime writers When a member of the Police Scotland team fails to clock-in for work, concern for her whereabouts is immediate... and the discovery of her burnt-out car in remote woodland to the south of Edinburgh sets off a desperate search for the missing woman. Meanwhile, DCI Tony McLean and the team are preparing for a major anti-corruption operation - one which may raise the ire of more than a few powerful people in the city. Is Anya Renfrew's disappearance a co-incidence or related to the case? McLean's investigations suggest that perhaps that Anya isn't the first woman to have mysteriously vanished in these ancient hills. Once again, McLean can't shake the feeling that there is a far greater evil at work here... Well, we are on the ferry and I'm all set up with my book and knitting. Fingers crossed we get smooth sailing and make it across without having to turn around 🤞

LeahBergen Finally! How long is the ferry crossing? 4mo
BookishMadHatter @LeahBergen normally 1.5 hours but there was still some wind and ocean swell so it took around 2, which isn't too bad at all. It was the first crossing since Thursday (we were booked for Friday morning) and it may not go again tomorrow 4mo
LeahBergen Yikes! I hope you and your family aren‘t prone to seasickness. 🤢 4mo
BookishMadHatter @LeahBergen my middle child gets sick sometimes, but I knew it would be a rough crossing and gave both who were with me seasick medicine beforehand 4mo
LeahBergen Good to hear! 4mo

Still no ferry going, might be a few more days actually. Grateful we have a warm and comfy place to stay, but feeling very stressed about missing work and not getting my Christmas prep done (no wrapping, cooking, don't even have a tree up)

peanutnine Oh gosh, how stressful. 🤞🏼 things get better soon 💖 4mo

Thr Easter Sunday weather allowed me to spend a first opportunity this year to sit in the garden and read my book, definitely a favourite reading spot. This is 10th in the DCI McLean series and as usual an enjoyable hunt which involves some sinister goings on with a supernatural twist, here it is the legend of a family of cannibals executed in Edinburgh in the 17th century that keeps cropping up. McLean has to balance home and work. A good series

Centique What a lovely reading spot! And is that a custard pie? My husband‘s favourite dessert 😍 2y
TheLudicReader I was able to sit outside for the first time today, too (albeit with a blanket). Bliss. 2y
Cathythoughts Lovely reading spot 💚 2y

This is a fantastic read, it‘s dark, gruesome and twisty, with some supernatural elements (as always) and great characters. Grumpy Bob is a real favourite

Mclean ends up in a dangerous situation, but will he be able to put an end to these disappearances once and for all? Utterly compelling and I loved every tension filled minute. Can‘t wait for book #11.
