An illuminating exploration of Irelands ancient dark goddessthe beloved phantom queen of the Celtic worldwith practices for modern-day devotees. The Morrigan is one of Pagan Irelands most famous--and notorious--goddesses. Her name translated as phantom queen or great queen, the Morrigan is famous for being a goddess of war, witchcraft and death, protection and retribution. This book also explores her patronage of motherhood, healing, shapeshifting, and the land. Classified among the Sidhe (fairies), the Morrigan dates back at least to Irelands Iron Age, but she is as modern as she is ancient?enjoying a growing contemporary and global following. Author Courtney Weber provides a guide for the modern devotee of this complex, mysterious goddess that encompasses practical veneration with modern devotionals, entwined with traditional lore and Irish-Celtic history.

This was another really quick read in very good way giving the reader plenty of info without drowning them in dry details. Highly recommend this one. #bookspin #scarathlon #TeamMonsterMash @TheAromaofBooks @StayCurious

I gave this book to my friend a few years back to help her fight her battles. Unfortunately, she lost and we lost her. I‘m devastated and trying to be grateful she‘s at peace but it‘s hard. Any recommendations for books dealing with loss are welcome.

Scochrane26 I loved this one—fiction but a wonderful idea of death. Sorry for your loss. 2y

AmyG I am so very sorry.😥 2y
ShyBookOwl My heart goes out to you and her other loved ones ❤ I hope you find the perfect book. I'll try to think of a good rec. When I'm dealing with loss, I usually turn to total escapism, so I can't think of any at the moment. 2y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘m so sorry for your loss 🙏🏻💔 2y
StaceGhost @AmyG @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks thank you both ❤️and yes, @ShyBookOwl same here. It might be time to reread some old fantasy series 2y
EvieBee I‘m so sorry. When I lost two loved ones back to back, I threw myself into a classic I‘d always wanted to read but intimidated me: Middlemarch. It was perfect. I read minuscule chunks every night. (edited) 2y
Chrissyreadit I‘m so sorry. I can only think of this- I will tag the book- it‘s from quotes on goodreads that I love-“There‘s a flame of magic inside every stone and every flower, every bird that sings and every frog that croaks. There‘s magic in the trees and the hills and the river and the rocks, in the sea and the stars and the wind, a deep wild magic that‘s as old as the world itself. It‘s in you too my darling girl, and in me and in every living creature 2y
Chrissyreadit Be it ever so small. Even in the dust I‘m sweeping up now- is stardust. In fact all of us are made from the stuff of stars” (Kate Forsyth) I think it is beautiful to see everyone is from stardust and returns to stardust ❤️ 2y
StaceGhost @Chrissyreadit thank you so much what a beautiful quote ❤️🙏🏻I will absolutely check it out 2y
StaceGhost @EvieBee what a fantastic idea I know I have a few sitting on my tbr and I think she would love this ❤️🙏🏻thank you so much 2y

Crazeedi I'm so sorry to hear, I lost my best friend 10 years ago and miss her every day, you will hear her when you least expect as a whisper in your ear. The memories you have will become more precious. I hope you meet her one day again. My sympathy and hug in the spirit💔 2y
StaceGhost @Crazeedi thank you so much ❤️I‘m sorry for your loss as well. Grief doesn‘t die, you just grow accustomed to it. Love makes you take that risk and accept it. 2y
