Great new series. Fast paced not overly dramatic and surprising. This is NOT a twilight look alike as sooo many are. I‘m looking forward to the second book.

My first #blameitonLitsy read for December. This is a fun take on the vampire 🧛‍♀️ myth. The FBI is setting up a special branch to deal with Shades , vampires. Things are not going well until the head agent , Alex recruits the mysterious Lindy.

Alex McKenna, new chief of the Chicago office of the Bureau of Paranormal Investigations, is tasked with tracking down a shade & some missing teens. Alex enlists the aid Lindy Frederick, a woman with secrets of her own. This book wasn‘t bad, it was a fun, quick read, but it doesn‘t really stand out in crowded field of vampire books. If you want a serious, keeper of a vampire book, Justin Cronin‘s The Passage is still the best.

And, because it is impossible to read one book at a time, I also brought this one along which I hear great author chatter about. It also has an awesome cover.

I've had the worst insomnia tonight, so I polished off this 200 page beauty. The book may be more like a long novella, but the story is fantastic! It reads like a pot-boiler police procedural with the most incredible character development and a super fresh take on vampires. I am definitely going to read more by Melissa F. Olson!!

Dragon Loved this one! Thanks for the recommendation 👍🐉 6y

Can this be a series?! This book had a different take on vampires. No sparkles here, just some FBI agents tracking killers. I wanted this book to be about 400 pages longer and it totally could have been. I have so many questions! For a quick entertaining read, I recommend!

Surprisingly good. Very quick read with the feel of an otherworldly cop show. The book had different spin on vampires but I could have used more backstory. the main character was well developed but the supporting characters lacked depth, even ones that played major roles in the plot.
