A fascinating collection of myths and legends spanning centuries and countries. From the classic Greek myths through King Arthur, Norse myths, and legends of Charlemagne, this would be a great starting point for anyone wanting to get into mythologies of Europe.

I considered myself well studied in Greek myths and Arthurian legends, but this collection had several I had never seen before! Also enjoyed the occasional insert of other texts.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

I‘ve always loved mythology and can‘t believe I didn‘t read this one earlier. It‘s a great starter book for someone just curious about myths. I enjoyed returning to all the old favorites from Greek and Norse mythology & while also hearing some from other cultures that were new to me. I liked how he mentions specific poems and other famous pieces that use mythology as a reference point. I don‘t think I‘ll ever tire of reading about Greek mythology.

I posted this 3 years ago , but @LeahBergen has me revisiting great spines .There are a kagillion editions of Bullfinch‘s Mythology, but when I found this old edition with a bold centurion (is there any other kind?) on the spine I had to buy it.

Some stories are hard to follow, but overall a great book.

Come on, who doesn't love mythology? Because I love reading about them and have been fascinated about them ever since I could remember. And yes, I reread from time to time. It also happens to be my bedside book.

It is always fun to shop your shelves! The tagged book was a happy surprise, I can take it off my list of books to buy. The Herodotus was easy to locate, which was unexpected.

Got these today!! It's been a while since I've been able to go to Barnes & Noble!! I've been wanting Bulfinch's Mythology for a while now! B&N has their classic for $5 (less with a membership)!

So my 10 year old reader is hooked on Percy Jackson and wanted a greek mythology book. So we went and got him a kickass one (and a couple more things 😬)
