Weekend #bookhaul! Provenance because I really liked Leckie's Imperial Radch trilogy, paperback Visser to replace my hardcover so my Animorphs collection matches, God is Disappointed in You because the first lines of Genesis brought out a fit of giggles in the middle of the bookstore. "In the beginning, God was lonely. So, he made the same mistake as a lot of men who live alone: he decided to go out and meet people."

Hilarious and irreverent. I think most people with a familiarity with the Bible and a sense of humor will love this book. In the preface the author indicates he is not mocking nor endorsing the Bible. I would liken it to an extremely condensed MA version of The Message Bible.

We moved into our house in October and immediately had a carpenter over to get an offer on bookshelves on two walls in my office (wall shelves, not standing bookcases). It took until today to get that offer. Their price? 7800 USD + hours for actually putting them up. WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY?!
God Is Disappointed in You is for people who would like to read the Bible...if it would just cut to the chase. Hilarious and fun to listen to.
