Klou You're welcome! 3y
Klou Also, what's a pumpkin hunt? Sounds fun! 3y
Cosmos_Moon My kids are settled back at school, too. Differently this year, but there. Have a fun Halloween, and I‘m wondering about the pumpkin hunt too! 🎃 3y

kezzlou85 @Klou people make or draw a pumpkin and put outside or in the window and kids go round seeing how many they can find. Then their own parents can give them sweets if they want. Safer way to do it this year. 3y
kezzlou85 @Cosmos_Moon glad yours are settled too. For my eldest it was the bus that caused the most worry. Using a card, wearing a mask, certain seats it was all a challenge. 3y
Klou @kezzlou85 aaaw. That sounds so great!! And I'm glad you've all found a safer way to do it! 3y
kezzlou85 @Klou yeah fun idea for the kids and a safer way too 3y

One of the taglines of this book (on the second cover) is “Your life can change in a heartbeat...” & with the story of Vivi who suffers a heart attack on her 27th birthday, monitoring her #heartbeat becomes a part of her life as her heart condition puts her on the transplant list. This book (a recent book tour review for me) makes important points about organ donation & although not maudlin, definitely requires a few tissues. 😥

KarenUK Stacked!.... my hubby is going to go on the transplant list (probably fairly soon) for double lung transplant (he has CF).... sounds like a good read👍💕 (edited) 5y
DebinHawaii @KarenUK It‘s a good read. Best wishes for your husband. 💜💜💜 5y

Two distinct storylines from different time periods eventually intersect in a big way. One storyline involves organ donation after 27 year old Vivienne suffers a major coronary event, requiring her to move back home with her mother and have help with every day life. Both storylines involve love and heartache as well as some mystery and suspense. I tried to imagine myself in Vivienne‘s shoes as I read and the story felt more intense and emotional.

My first book from this author & it touched me & brings home the importance of organ donation into a compelling story about love & family. On her 27th birthday, Vivi suffers a heart attack & learns she has a heart condition & she has to leave her London career & life & move home with her mother. Combine that with Shelly's story set decades earlier & slowly, how these stories intersect is revealed. Paired with Lemon-Ginger Iced Tea w/Berries...

There are about a dozen more comfortable reading/napping spots inside or out for Max🐱& I to spend time together this afternoon, but his preference today is to nap with his paw outside, his head on the door track & his body inside & on my feet while I sit (not all that comfortably) on the ottoman beside him & read more of this book for review. Guess who is the boss in this house?! 😹

Oh this book is beautiful. Its heartbreaking and so well written. It draws you in and refuses to let you go long past the last page is read. This story is told from two timelines that eventually link the story together. To keep from spoilers I wont say much but I think it was well done. The ending is beautiful yet sad. It deals with the very real issue of organ donation and the lack of awareness.

This is a beautiful and moving story written by one of my favourite authors. It takes the reader on quite an emotional journey which is both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. It combines fact with fiction and highlights the need for more people to get themselves on the organ donor list. It‘s well written and researched with some realistic and likeable characters. It‘s also a tearjerker so don‘t forget your tissues!

A great read tackling the emotive issue of organ donation and transplantation. A young woman with everything to live for suffers a near fatal heart attack and needs a heart transplant to prolong her life. Cue a major lifestyle change and the revelation that fate had something else in store for her.
This is an extremely powerful book that delivers a very important message - but not in a preachy way.

I can‘t rate this book highly enough it was so thought provoking. This book conveys such an important message but in such s beautiful way. The story moves between the past and present until the lives of Vivienne and Shelley collide. Vivienne is on the transplant list and you see the impact this has on her and her family. It‘s about love and living with limitations and the love of family and friends and Living in hope
