so-soA short book about the author's love of reading and how it has impacted her over the years. It's a short, quick read that bookaholics will likely enjoy (what avid reader doesn't love knowing what others have loved reading?) and an unapologetic defense of the joys of reading as it seems to become less and less a part of most people's lives.
so-soIt sounds ridiculous, but Ruined by Reading is way too wordy. It was interesting, but the writing almost sounded pretentious. Just so-so. The cover would be a really cute tattoo, though. 🤷♀️

The author and I seem to have the same TBR stack pattern.
This is why I tend more toward a to-be-continued than DNF stack. 😂
pickThe cover image says it all...this book lifted me up and swept me away! It reminded me of my earliest readings-childhood classics, poems memorized in school ("Annabel Lee") and book chapters in old issues of Reader's Digest. Plus the author's writing style was as intoxicating as savoring a book about books and a Litten's favorite pastime. It did get a little heavy at times, but as my addictive bookish habit, I could not avert my eyes. ???
Thx @DeweysReadathon and cudos to my fellow Readathoners! I could only put in 10 hours, but still enjoyed this relaxing reading time. Plus I had so much fun doing the mini challenges and checking in on Litsy to see what everyone else was reading. I'm ready for more events like this...but gotta nap now. 😴
Good morning Readathoners! There are still 2 more hours of the #readathon left in Southern California. So I got up early and started my next book by flashlight at the beach, my favorite reading spot. Sunrise is almost here. 🌅🤓📚
