So, that was strange and delightful!

Really interesting story; original concept. I enjoyed it at first but had difficulty figuring out what exactly was going on toward the end. Still, worth reading if you‘re looking for unusual dystopian fiction.

An interesting, post-apocalyptic world. It was a good and at times intense story but a lot of things just happened without being explained. I would read the second one.

This has been on my shelf a long time. Sequel is die out soon. So far, so good.

A post-apocalyptic ghost hunter goes on a quest. Don‘t want to give anything else away because I loved experiencing it blind. I can‘t get enough of stories of girls reclaiming their power, and also magic, and also ghosts.

This was a strange and lovely book.

This story is so much more than I expected. The human condition and it's parallels, across worlds, across time. Its incredible.

The light at the end of the tunnel? I am (hopefully) at the end of a 5 week reading slump. I have listened to almost half of this book today. Is the slump over? God, I hope so.

I definitely pick Archivist Wasp as my #bestofOctober for #booktober such an enjoyable read.

I finished reading this one this morning and omg you guys it was so fantastic. I loved the story and the characters and I love that the story didn't go at all how I thought it would. Definitely recommend it.

An engaging "YA" with the great advantage of not having a central romance grafted onto it. Good opening, a little slow in the first third, and then really picks up when the quest starts. Strong visual description. The epilogue seemed unnecessary to me but I can understand why it was attractive to include it. I would be keen on a film adaptation because of the delightfully original imagery.

A fresh, unique post-post apocalyptic book. Wasp's role in her society is to hunt ghosts, learn from them, and send them on to Catchkeep, the god of afterlife. It's a brutal existence, and when the opportunity comes to escape, she accepts the help of a ghost. The story kept me engaged through it all, but too many flashbacks bogged the story down at the end. Still, the book felt original, and I was invested in the characters and story.

This book blew my freaking mind. Such a fantastic and unusual way to follow a woman's transition into owning her power. Give this to the badass teenagers you know who are sick of traditional YA tropes. They will dig it for sure.

Great YA read that doesn't feel like YA. Slow start but fun mystery, sharp heroine and no love triangle! Nice to also read a self contained book v embarking on a new series.

In which a young girl serving a violent and ceremonial role decides to do something for a ghost, a ghost she really should be busting. Inventive, awesome ride.

Archivist Wasp has to be one of my favorite books of all time. It and its author are not very well-known, but I don't care. I love it. What somewhat unknown books/authors do you guys love?
