Catching up from yesterday, this haiku is inspired by the exuberantly golden sunset I saw driving home one evening this week. 🌅
Golden Respite
In a burst of gold
The sun takes its daily rest
Ready for nightfall

Had this one in my pile for awhile so I‘m giving it a go.

The Land of Mango Sunsets really was not a profound tale, for sure, but an easy read and characters that you wanted to succeed. The relationships between multiple layers of family and friends was depicted admirably, and I like when things neatly come together -- and that is what happened in this book.

The last day of August....I can‘t believe it‘s September already. It all goes by too fast! This weekend I‘m reading The Land of Mango Sunsets by Dorothea Benton Frank.

What‘s your weekend read?

I have not liked the last few Dorothea Benton Frank books I read; thankfully, this one was different. It had characters I liked and just the right mix of lightness and deep themes for a summer read.
