This is the 6th book in the Pendergast series and the 2nd in the Diogenes trilogy. In this book, Pendergast knows Diogenes has something big planned for a certain date and is desperate to apprehend him.

I‘m not sure I really liked any of the characters in this one. However, I do like that so many of the characters come back from previous books. Characters that initially don‘t seem connected (or maybe that‘s just my fuzzy memory!). There was a twist near the end and the epilogue set up the next book in the series. I did like this enough to continue the series.

The fifth in the Pendergast series. I love this series. Even though they are usually almost 600 pages, they are so immersive... Some characters from earlier books returned, and it was nice to see them.

Another book for #seriesread2021

This is my favorite Agent Pendergast book yet! Several characters from earlier books were pulled into this one and it took up just where the cliffhanger of the last one ended. This one ends in a cliffhanger as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this one...this trilogy really dives into Pendergast as you find out what makes him who he is, as well as who his real friends are.

$9 #bookhaul. I've heard good things about J.D. Robb - fingers crossed! 🤞🏻

Melissa_J I was reluctant to try Robb at first since I'm not a romance fan, but absolutely love the In Death series! 7y
DGRachel Thanks @Melissa_J I'm a little nervous because I didn't notice until I got home that Robb is a pen name for Nora Roberts, who I tried to read 15 years ago and did not enjoy. :/ 7y
Suelizbeth I don't know anything about Robb, but I love Preston and Child's Pendergast series. Some of them scared me into sleeping with my lights on. 7y
DGRachel @Suelizbeth I've only read the first one, but it was so good that I know I want to read the rest and at $5/ea for the hard covers, I couldn't resist! Relic kept me on the edge of my seat! 7y

#favoritevillians #somethingforsept villains. Well. Obviously Randall Flagg and Pennywise. Stephen King has all the greatest villains. Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child have quite a few great villains as well, and Diogenes is my favorite of theirs. Third, who can leave Hannibal out? Lastly, Count Olaf is my favorite person.

RealLifeReading Count Olaf is one of mine too!! 8y

I just found this pic of my fav villain. Who sits around and draws Diogenes Pendergast? This is an excellent use of your time, interwebz. This is book #2 of the Diogenes trilogy within the Aloysius Pendergast series. Love these brothers and their feud. #somethingforsept
