#takemetothebookstore!

I will be traveling with all my girls to see @AnnieD in London two weeks from now. Any good bookstores we must see in the Oxford Street, Bermondsey, or Bath areas? We are already planning a Persephone outing.

#newyearreads #bookbanistemporarilyhalted

Ellen Daunt Bookstore on Marylebone High Street - not too far from Oxford Street, has a particular focus on travel, and is one of the prettiest bookstores you‘ll see 6y
Mitch Oh my - we‘ve so many good ones! If you‘re here on Feb 9 the weekend is full of organised Bookshop Crawls! If you like big stores then Waterstones in Piccadilly ( Europe‘s largest bookstore) is a must. Foyles is just around the corner on Charing Cross Road - it‘s an institution! Stanford‘s specialises in travel & maps and is only 5 mins from Foyles, as is Forbidden Planet if you like sci-fi and fantasy. All are 15 mins walk from Oxford Circus tube 6y
Libby1 I agree with @Ellen about Daunt. I would also recommend Mr. B‘s Emporium Of Reading Delights in Bath. 6y

Melissa_J I love Foyles on Charing Cross Road. Actually there are a number of bookstores in that area, although I can‘t remember the name of any of them 😢 6y
Rachellynnwright I ❤️ Foyles! 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Oh my!!!!! Have fun!!! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 6y
nofutureparttwo i second @Mitch about Waterstones! 6y

BarbaraBB What a fantastic trip all together! How you must be looking forward to it! 6y
Itchyfeetreader Personally I would recommend going to Daunt books in Marylebone. 15 minute walk from Oxford Circus rube. Beautiful building and books arranged by country ! There has also been a real growth in independent shops if you head a little further out into more residential areas - I have 2 within a ten minute walk of my house!! https://www.dauntbooks.co.uk 6y
Mdargusch Thanks so much @Itchyfeetreader ! 6y
AnnieD Can‘t wait! Persephone books is certainly on the list! 6y

#London2018 is a go! Booked flights with a stopover in Iceland 🇮🇸 on the way over and reserved hotels in both Reykjavik and the Bayswater part of London. Let the planning begin—have already loosely scheduled a day trip with friends to Stonehenge and a day loop covering the Tower Bridge and Westminster Abbey. Have any of my Littens been there? What should we definitely see or do?

RealLifeReading Exciting! I'd suggest the British Library, the Persephone Books store, Charing Cross Street bookstores! Also more here https://www.buzzfeed.com/ariannarebolini/literary-london-spots?utm_term=.gfKyMAk... (edited) 7y
mrsmarch @RealLifeReading I definitely have Agatha Christie‘s blue plaque on my wishlist. I‘m afraid if I went to Charing Cross it looks like I‘d be shipping books home 😂 When my husband went to London in 2014 I sent him with a list of Alexander McCall Smith titles that weren‘t in the US yet....I will unabashedly do the same this time! 7y
CouronneDhiver I‘m going back again next year and then taking a cruise from Southhampton 7y
DivaDiane I'll meet you for a trip to the British Library! 7y
mrsmarch @DivaDiane My poor husband is going to have such a boring trip! 😂 I insist on the British Museum‘s Egyptian collection and Agatha Christie‘s house. And our friends from college are going to take us daytripping out to Stonehenge. 7y

TheLondonBookworm I'm in Ireland from the 1st to the 18th but I'll be around after that if a book shop crawl is on the cards 😍😍😍😍😍 love to meet other Littens!! 7y
julesG @TheLondonBookworm Let's do this. Though I might have my kids in tow. 😶 7y
julesG @Sarah83 My friend let's me flat-sit. So until the school summer holidays start, I'm alone in the big city and then my family is joining me. 7y
Sarah83 Sounds superb 😍 7y
Cosyreader Yes! 7y
CoverToCoverGirl I would if I could... big sigh 7y
julesG @Amy-Laura Great! Maybe we can crawl a few of the bookshops since we both missed the crawl in February. 😉 7y
Cosyreader @julesG good plan! Whereabouts in London will you be? 7y
julesG @Amy-Laura I'll be staying in Hackney. I've got a valid Oyster card, so we can meet somewhere central/convenient for the both of us. Send me an email: julia (dot) guttzeit (@) gmail (dot) com 7y
Cosyreader @julesG brilliant 😊 7y
