Such a lovely book to hold and read a poem everyday ! There is a short introduction to the poet also. I find that this kind of format of a poem for every date of the year, makes me read poetry on a consistent basis

I've done it! I completed all the books I planned to read before 2020.

So I'm ending my #24B42020 #Readathon with 40hours

Reading a poem a day was and interesting experience. My two favorites were Solitude by Ella Wheeler Wilcox (Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep and you weep alone;) and Don‘t Quit by John Greenleaf Whittier (Rest, if you must, but don‘t you quit.) #elfies #WinterGames #tbrread

Enchanted_Bibliophile Also just finished this one. My favourite was The Midnight Skaters and The Road Not Taken. 4y

#TIL that when Queen Elizabeth was in prison she used a diamond to scratch a poem in the woodwork. #NFNov

End of day 2: 12h18min
Didn't get all the time in that I wanted; as it was my sister's birthday and we stayed a little longer than planned. But tomorrow is all mine to conquer the missing hours .

My stack for this week‘s #boutofbooks is all books in progress! I‘m about 50 pages into the novel, a chapter into the Pooh book, and I got behind on both poetry collections over the summer. If I can finish the first two and catch up on the poetry, that would be a highly successful readathon for me!

I‘ve been trying to establish a daily poetry habit and have been more or less successful. Ironically, I stayed pretty on schedule until April which is National Poetry Month 🤦‍♀️ Although I got behind on this anthology, I‘ve been slowly reading a poetry memoir and devoured two Kwame Alexander novels-in-verse, so I figure it all evens out 🤷‍♀️ #Readathon seemed like a good enough excuse to get caught up. Onto my nightstand so I don‘t forget!

I had no idea that I had ordered this book from the U.K., and was worried it was lost. I was very excited to see it yesterday, and to get caught up. My plan is to read one poem every morning with my tea.

FlowerFairy Wonderful idea! And beautiful cover! 6y

BucklingBookshelves @AceOnRoam they really are! These are technically children‘s collections so I‘m finding the selections are not too intimidating and have kept up fairly consistently during the year — though the “day” one is brand new :) What‘s #ATB? I‘m curious! 7y
