My Sunday has been spent catching up on Curse of the Mistwraith for #redstargroupreads over on Instagram and cuddling with various cats. I'd say that's a pretty good end to a three day weekend.

Very violent! The only character I liked is made out to be a bad guy, beaten and tortured. It might have gotten better but I was 50 pages in and I had to force myself to read it. I'm just not a fan of violent books. #MountTBRChallenge

Endowarrior21 If his under shell is flat he is a she but if it‘s con caved he is definitely a he :-). My brother has two a male and a female and next year they will be breeding age 😁. 6y

jfalkens @Endowarrior21 thanks 🤗 we had a Russian but he passed away a few years ago. My husband says the spot on his shell looks like a v(female is u shaped) and the way his shell is shaped both point towards male but we are unsure on his age. The pet store said he was from a private breeder and one employee said he was 5-6 mths(was there a few weeks) and another seemed to know him really well. Also my husband said at that age they are much smaller. 6y

Endowarrior21 @jfalkens he looks like a male to me too but it‘s been 8 years since Gus was that small lol and Lilly was smaller lol. They are now 9 years old and rule the backyard lol. 6y

jfalkens @Endowarrior21 it's been 10 years since my husband got our other Russian, Genbu(wild caught by the pet store) and 3 years since he died. My husband said Genbu was never grew. Sounds about right lol we gave Wally some dandelion greens today and he got very excited about them and ate them right up, first time he ate after we took him home 🤗🐢 when we had Gebu we also had a female but we had to rehome her because she beat Genbu up and wouldn't 6y

jfalkens @Endowarrior21 let him eat or use the heat lamp. Genbu tried reproducing with her but he always mounted in the wrong spot(her leg,face,side,etc) and the few times he got the right side she would just walk away. Genbu was much healthier and happier after we rehomed her on a turtle forum. 6y

Endowarrior21 Oh my brother is in no hurry to mate them Gus has not tried to mount her yet he is more interested in eating lol and she keeps to her corner of the yard and lays in the sun when she is not eating. It‘s just he knows at 10 they will be breeding age. He got them because he loves tortoises and has the yard space for them. He did not plan on getting a male and female he just bought two so him and my sister in law each had a pet to look after. 6y

jfalkens @Endowarrior21 lol turtle babies would have been fun and cute with Genbu and the female but it was never the intention, she was more supposed to be his friend and keep him from getting lonely. We hope to have a secure outdoor enclosure(for nice weather) but we need indoor enclosure's first, next weekend we are planning on building indoor enclosure's, we have an ~11 year old female box turtle too 😊 My husband had turtles when we met and it was 6y

jfalkens @Endowarrior21 always his thing, until we lost Genbu and our painted turtle(Lily) a few years ago and we were both devastated. Before that I knew I liked them but I didn't realize how much. Now it was me who convinced my husband on getting Wally lol He had our box turtle(Murphy) when we met and got her as a baby but doesn't remember when lol he has bad memory for certain things(like the year he got her), so her age is a guess. 6y

This is the first book in an 11 book series called Wars of Light and Shadow. It‘s high fantasy. And it‘s written in high fantasy prose. Descriptive, beautiful, dense. It‘s not an easy book. There‘s enough lore and history to rival Tolkien. It‘s told from an omniscient narrator‘s point of view and it slowly reveals its secrets. A treat for the patient fantasy fan who is looking for a challenge 😍
