4 posts | 1 read
Twenty-three original thought-provoking and moving stories that capture the depth and breadth of caring and of giving and delve into the complex world of caregivers. Children giving care. Dogs and cats giving care. Sidekicks, military, monks, robots. Even aliens. Bound to us by invisible bonds, but with lives, dreams, and passions of their own.

The comments on @Andrew65 post made me feel better about my own list so I might have requested a few more 🤡 #AugustARC the tagged book has been on my list since 2017 😂

Andrew65 😂🤣😂 I‘m now an enabler! Best of luck with getting those ARCs down. 2y

Mehso-so

I struggled a little bit with this one because sci-fi/fantasy isn't a genre I delve into often. Coupled with the fact that I'm not a huge fan of short stories it was a rather odd #NetGalleyReads pick for me. (That cover sold me on it! LoL) I'm glad I gave it a chance though as the stories I did enjoy were really good. The whole compilation is centered on the theme of caregiving and the lengths one will go to to do this job well. 3.5 stars

monkeygirlsmama My favorite stories from the book were: Mother Azalea's Sad Home for Forgotten Adults, The Gift, The Healer's Touch, The Beautiful Gears of Dying, Blinders, and Dreams As Fragile As Glass. 😌 7y
MatchlessMarie This one is on my TBR. Same for me on the Sci Fi end but I have been coming around a bit. 7y
monkeygirlsmama @MatchlessMarie I can follow fantasy better than sci-fi usually. And I did kind of scan through a few stories in this anthology as opposed to fully investing myself or I'd have never finished. I read most of them and I can see the appeal, just not my cup of tea. 7y
monkeygirlsmama @MatchlessMarie Meant to add, hope you enjoy it when you read it. The stories I mentioned by title in my first comment on this post were all really good and had my complete attention. 7y

#AwesomeAutumnBooks #TBR OMG I must read, read, read! All of these, but one (#mgbuddyread title), are ARC for books publishing this month. 😳📚

#SeptemBOWIE #SpaceOddity I'd say Holy Crap the World is Ending sounds like a space oddity. The tagged book has a cool outerspace inspired cover design.

#AutumnReads #MostAnticipated All the books pictured apply! 😀

Marchpane Sing, Unburied Sing is SO good 👌 7y
monkeygirlsmama @Marchpane I keep hearing that. I'd meant to have gotten to it sooner, but you know the age old adage "So many books; so little time." ? 7y
Marchpane Ain't that the truth 😂 Bookworm problems 😆 7y

monkeygirlsmama @Marchpane Yet as far as problems go, this one ain't too bad. 😜 Signed: Proud Bookworm with Overflowing Stacks O'Plenty... Cause, really, who'd want it any other way? Heehee 🖊❣️ (edited) 7y
Jess7 Nice pic! Now I want to look up all of these books as I haven't heard of many of them. My #TBR might start growing too! 😂 7y
JoeStalksBeck Awesome! I want The Visitors so bad! Is it good? 7y
Cinfhen Well done 👍🏻 lots of good title recommendations 💞💞💞 7y
monkeygirlsmama @JoeStalksBeck Haven't got to start it yet, but will let you know as soon as I do. 🙃 7y
monkeygirlsmama @JoeStalksBeck It was creepy good but in a totally different way than I‘d hoped. Not so much a horror/thriller as I‘d thought it would be and it wasn‘t really scary liked I‘d been expecting. ☹️ 7y
