Oh, how I love Dorothy Whipple.

Greenbanks is home to three generations of one family before and after the First World War and that‘s about as much as I know (and need to know 😆) of the plot before diving into this 1932 novel. So far, so delightful. ❤️❤️

Loved, loved, loved GREENBANKS. Beautiful writing, characters who are fully alive, and raw emotion throughout the text. It's not tidy - some characters get happy endings, some don't, some who deserve comeuppance get it, some don't - but it's like life. And that is lovely.
