A friend recommended that I watch a TV movie about the widow of Richard Carlson. After watching, I decided to look for the copy of his very popular book, which I knew was in my TBR piles. Found it, and finally read it! I found it kind and uplifting with easy strategies to help bring happiness into your life. Actually, I am now thinking of buying copies to give for Christmas gifts! #betterlatethannever

ravenlee I worked in the admissions office as my college work-study job, and for graduation the admissions counselor gave all of us copies of the college edition, with personalized notes from her and her assistant for each of us. It was a very meaningful gift, and I still have it almost 20 years later. 2y
DivineDiana @ravenlee How thoughtful! And 20 years later, the message is just as strong! ❤️ 2y

This is probably one of the most quoted lines but one we tend to forget... or apply.

#TarotTakeover Day 2: The World

In my Sacred Circle deck (German edition): the World Tree, or Tree of Life.

I've chosen this book, mainly because it helps me achieve my goal of not sweating the small stuff, of spending my energy on more important things than say the driver who just cut in in front of me.

Perfect book while on rehab.
Short and very enlightening chapters. Especially the chapter about "imagine that everyone else is enlightened except you". I shall go and see what lessons my fellow rehab patients have to teach me today. The average patient here is 65 and had a stroke, I'm one of a handful of MS patients and I'm the only one under 50. Oh, well, it's another life lesson, I'm sure.

Thank you @LittleWonder for this book.

SandyW I've been more off Litsy than on the last few weeks (new cat, rather distracting 🐈). Sorry to hear you have to be in rehab, but hopefully the road to recovery will be smooth and quick! 6y
julesG @SandyW Thank you. The sad story is, I was doing reasonably fine -healthwise-before I came here. I've been here three weeks, one more week to go. My health has declined, I'm on the brink of another relapse and all the questions I've sought answers to are still unanswered. 😑 Tell me about your new cat! 6y
Cinfhen Oh no, I‘m so sorry to hear your health is declining instead of improving 😔 6y

julesG @Cinfhen Well, as I said, I'm a weed. I'll muddle through it. The only 6y
julesG ... really annoying thing, the doctors here ignore my problems. If they admitted I had a relapse coming up, then that would strengthen my point (which is that too much stress makes the MS flare up). 6y
Reecaspieces You got this! 6y
knittedgnome Well I hope this book helps you not stress. Hugs friend. 6y
Crazeedi @julesG I hope you get stronger every day. I have a good friend with same affliction. It's a challenging road to travel, my prayers are lifted up for you today 6y
SandyW @julesG She's really sweet. Affectionate 6y
SandyW @julesG Got her at the humane society. She is around 2. Slightly clutzy, and has one canine that's totally misaligned. She was picked up with scabs and bruising around her neck and shoulders, so they told us to be very patient with the introduction. So she's on her own room and we're taking turns spending lots of time with each cat alone and not getting anything else done. Fingers crossed that they'll like each other! 6y
julesG @SandyW Give them time. They might not become best buddies, tolerating one another often is enough. 6y

My #RehabTBR is a mix of #MountTBR, #NetGalleyTBRAttack, my personal challenge to read more physical copies off my shelves, and #bookmail.

Let's see how many I can get done this week. 😀
